A lot of the speculation surrounding AC Milan’s hunt for a new centre-back is now focused on Eric Bailly of Manchester United, but another defender is reportedly in the Rossoneri’s sights.
During his segment for Sky (via MilanNews) last night, Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that the idea of signing Bailly from United is gaining momentum but at the same time Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are keeping their options open and are also evaluating domestic options.
They are looking at young Italian defenders who could come in and bolster the department which is why Nicolo Casale of Hellas Verona has joined their list of targets. The 23-year-old is a player the recruitment team like a lot having watched him in the last few matches.
Milan reached out to the Gialloblu to understand if it could be possible to discuss a loan formula, but for now they do not want to sell him given that he has made 20 league appearances this season.
