Official: Milan-linked Nigerian midfielder signs for Club Brugge

By Euan Burns -

Previous AC Milan target Raphael Onyedika has signed for Club Brugge on a permanent deal, putting an end to any chance of joining the Rossoneri.

The transfer was announced by the Belgian champions on Sunday, and the Nigerian midfielder has signed a contract until 2027.

Milan were very serious about buying him from FC Midtjylland earlier in the month but they had more than one bid rejected by the Danish side.

One bid was for €4 million and it quickly became clear that FC Midtjylland wanted to receive at least double that for the midfielder.

The 21-year-old has been in the first team since 2020 but spent a year on loan at Fredericia. He is viewed as a very promising talent for the future and Club Brugge could be a much better stepping stone for him.

Milan had already turned their attention to other targets such as Bordeaux’s Jean Onana.

  1. It’s a shame Italian giant ac Milan couldn’t afford an £8m player they really wanted, but a smaller club like fc Brugge knows his worth

  2. I think Milan made a great decision… who will spend 8m on a bench player??
Most of you who are saying that we have been out bid by Brugge, I would like you all to know that you don’t have a clue about football and its transfer transaction!
You can’t just splash money around on a bench player…
Maldini knows that we can get a descent DM with 5m , that’s why he was not willing to pay 8m!
IT’S TIME THAT WE SHUT UP AND LET MASARA AND MALDINI DO THEIR WORK, let’s wait for the transfer window to close and wait for the end of the season for the final outcome

    1. Yeah you can’t €5m for a player and that’s ac Milan level now infact Milan can actually get €5,000🤣🤣 player for their bench. Clubs like man city, Chelsea, psg, Barca, inter, juve, Real Madrid, Bayern etc do have €50m players on their bench…let that sink in ur brain.
