Reports: Milan to be without Leao for Liverpool game – latest on Pellegri’s injury

By Oliver Fisher -

Some bad news has come from the checks that forwards Rafael Leao and Pietro Pellegri had on their injuries this morning, it is claimed.

Pellegri came off in the opening 15 minutes of Milan’s 2-0 win over Salernitana at the weekend as he pulled up clutching his muscle after chasing a ball over the top, calling for a substitution, while Leao came off at half-time in the game as Pioli confirmed after the match that he suffered a blow to the leg.

According to the latest from Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, the examination on Pellegri confirmed the presence of an injury to the right adductor muscle with a new check-up scheduled in about ten days.

Meanwhile, there were hopes that Leao could play against Liverpool tomorrow and that his substitution was precautionary, but he suffered a strong muscular contusion in the back of his right thigh which actually caused a small muscle injury to the femoral biceps. According to Daniele Longo, this means he will not be back against Liverpool.

  1. Well done to Milan medical staffs for trying to sabotage our qualifications for champions league knock out stage. You guys are doing a great job in keeping our players fit. Continue with the nonsense you are all doing..

  2. The game was always going to be difficult even with our starting IX, and it just got worse with our already static attack about to become even more static. Trust Pioli to field Lord Krunic in that position instead of adapting Theo to that position. Let us just play a clean game and take whatever comes. As far as preparation for this season goes, Maldini and Massara did a horrible job in the Mecarto.

    1. Maybe the should have hired expert like you to handle transfers. I mean real life is not like playing FM. Maldini had to work with small budget and he did the best he could do.

  3. Its not Maldini fault.

Look how many injuries Bayern has – almost none, with older players on average.

Physical preparation and regenaration is very poor in Milan – we have most injuries of all big teams im Europe!

It was Liverpool who we wanted to have B team, while now we have B team.
Ask Seedorf if he wants to play
