AC Milan can not consider any player truly untouchable without Champions League football, and that applies to Tijjani Reijnders despite his renewal.
Reijnders has been perhaps Milan’s best performer this season with 40 games played (and we are still at the beginning of March), 12 goals scored and three assists in all competitions. In the disastrous and negative season that the club are experiencing, he has been a shining light.
As Calciomercato.com report, Reijnders signed a new contract yesterday worth €3.5m net per season (plus bonuses tied to personal and team objectives) until June 2030, without the inclusion of any release clause.
He thus cemented himself as a pillar of Milan in the present and future, though how long that will be for remains a mystery of sorts. An important premise is that Milan did not extend the Dutchman’s contract for leverage with view to a summer sale, nor does the player have any intention of leaving.
However, missing out on the Champions League will see Milan’s accounts take a huge hit, and in turn that means ‘no one would be considered untouchable or unsellable’. If a huge bid arrived for any player – including Reijnders – the directors would have the obligation to listen to it.
This is where Chelsea come into the equation. The Blues have already enquired about Rafael Leao and now asked for the first information on Reijnders, too. We are far from talking about a concrete negotiation or even an offer ready to arrive, but the interest of the London club is real.
The excellent relations between the two clubs – as seen with the Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Joao Felix deals – could help. In the meantime, Barcelona and Manchester City have the name of Reijnders on their notebook too, even if he seems very happy to stay.
Big chances this summer Gerry / Furlani gonna sell Reijnders, Leao, Theo, Mike, Pulisic, and Tomori. No CL means less income but Gerry needs more money to pay his debt to Elliot.
That’s the feeling I’ve got as well, I wasn’t quite hyped up when Reijnders wrote his new contract. There was something behind it.
But on this case, let’s hope Chelsea won’t qualify for the CL
Looking at Chelsea position in the table, i think they have bigger chance to qualify for CL than Milan lol.
Nope. They won’t sell that many so-called stars. Just enough to cover the missing UCL money and finance new, motivated players.
You say nope but it already happened with Tonali.
But here’s the thing. You can make whatever excuses for RedTurd. But don’t cry when they selling Reijnders, Theo, Leao, Mike, and Pulisic and replace them with some mediocre players.
Tonali was sold because M&M failed to get money for Donnarumma, Kessie and Calhanoglu. All of the money from the Tonali sale was reinvested. Who told you they would be replaced with mediocre players? Rijnders, Fofana, Pavlovic etc are a huge upgrade on guys like Kjaer, Krunic and post scudetto Bennacer. You do know that the management have to make the club successful to get a return, right? Use your brain before posting drivel.
So they sold Tonali because M/M did not get enough money right.
Not because gerry himself said Tonali wasn’t sold because of dire need of money, but because the price was right??
😂🤣😂😂At this point the Redbird defence counsels are pulling nonsense out of thin air to justify their client.
Well it’s coming from you, sooooo I am not surprised. You are more detached from reality than other Redbird banner men.
They sold because money was not gotten😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂.
Good show.
Jolly good show
Exactly my point!!! They sold ONE player!!! ONE!!! Read what I said before. I’ll even show you the right sentence to make it easy: “They won’t sell that many so-called stars. ”
Hint: Look at the middle of the sentence.
Tonali walked out, he was in discussions with Newcastle long before any move was made, the boy loves money and needs it to fund his gambling addiction.
” but Gerry needs more money to pay his debt to Elliot.”
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!!!
FFS! Gerry could sell all the players but he still wouldn’t be able to pay the loans with that money. Why is it so so fng hard to understand that the owner’s money and club’s money are two very different things and how NOTHING to do with each others????????
It’s hard to understand because some fans are absolute planks who have no understanding of football or business and lack common sense.
The evidence strongly suggests that, yes.
And you think RedBird can use funds the club generate to pay off their debts because you don’t understand finance or because you don’t understand finance?
So are you saying Redbird as the owner of the club can not use the money generated through the club? Hmm interesting!!!
Club’s money isn’t the owner’s money. End of story.
Red bird trash but they are not stupid selling many key player in one season. Even if i as owner wont do that , just selling Theo already enough in summer. So far key player they sell only tonali and we got tiji + puli + yunus musah in return. I don’t even mind if they sell leao to chelsea if they coming with 80m euro bid but look like no club want leao next summer due to his bad perform this season. Theo are priority to sell due to his contract expired in 2026
Dude, RB have 600m euro to elliot. Even if they sell whole squad + casa milan + bus still not enough to pay all debt. After they sell whole squad, they will suffer huge loss because no fans will support them and club get relegated, they are not stupid to do that. So far they only sell one key player tonali. Even if they sell theo , it is better than see theo free transfer 2026 ( theo refuse to renew )
I think RedTurd will first try and get rid of those who exceed their salary cap with their demands. So prime candidates to leave are Leao, Theo and Mike.
But if Chelsea come with 80 millions for Tijji, Scaroni will gladly pack his bags while Gerry sends him good luck text message.
“But if Chelsea come with 80 millions for Tijji, Scaroni will gladly pack his bags while Gerry sends him good luck text message.”
I don’t care who the owner and president of Milan are, none of them should turn down 80 mil offer for Reijnders or any of the Milan players, since none of them is worth nowhere near that number.
It’s not like I am against the idea of selling for such amount.
Reijnders is the best player in the squad, what are you talking about, You have Madrid, Chelsea, City and Barcelona after him, his valued at 50m on a 5 year contract 80m would be a low figure.
Reijnders can’t defend. Pulisic is the best. No questions about it.
Will take 70+ for Tiji.
Also Mike, Leo and Theo among the stars!!!
Also all the deadwood as well.
I do not believe any player from the current squad who would be or stay world class and until Redbird leave, Milan will stay miserable anyway….
Prime candidates to leave are theo, he is asking 8m euro nett / years. Leao also maybe leave if there is offer 80m euro cash. With experience DS like tare or paratici, that money from Theo sale maybe can become good
And if they sell how will they get back into the Champions League for the 26/27 season?? Don’t talk nonsense.
Chelsea with or without UCL, he already have big budget every season. So Milan can big sale for them ( Theo, leao and tijjani ). That’s why they signing renewal for up their prices…
One thing about another Year Zero ius that it might give me a chance to start afresh with a whole new club – new directors, manager, and players.
If one of them is Italian they might even start to look like AC Milan again….
The coach maybe Italian ( Sarri) and player maybe Ricci will coming next season. Also with return JF & TA to their club chelsea & Rome will make liberali & camarda have more playing time with ACM next season. For director igli tare are 1st position while paratici 2nd
LoL
It’s all about the money.
Redbird leave now
What do you know about money? RedBird are made up of multi-millionaires. How many millions have you made? That’s right, none. They know to get a return on their investment, they have to make the club successful, which is why they’ve invested a quarter of a billion on the squad in 2 years.
People here make me wonder what they’re actually watching and if they even know how football works, 80m for Reijnders on a 5 year contract while valued at 50m is a low figure for easily the best midfielder we’ve had in the squad since Seedorf, Gattuso and Pirlo left. Yet they want to cry about Tonali who isn’t even on the level of Montolivo.
Who also left to fund his gambling addiction in england, and decided this long before the sale was actually made, and who has stated wants to come back after not finding England what he thought it was. Make it make sense, I would not have that embarrassment back in the club or country. He can stay there and rot.
The big problem is in Management,New player so New banding ,don’t bring back young Hong lo era ,just hired now coach can handle player ego and don’t bought mediocre player again ,sacked Maldini and masara and replaced with Furlani is stupid decision, bring main know about football(better sold milan depend u lose ur money red bird if u don’t know how to build great Club, wasting time, money and u broke the histori…..stupid Cardinale)
