CM: Why Milan are not worried about losing two crucial figures to Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not worried about the possibility of losing sporting director Ricky Massara and/or chief scout Geoffrey Moncada to Juventus, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how Massara is seen as a reserved, hardworking and competent director as is shown in his work with Milan since he arrived back in 2019, helping to build a team capable of winning the Scudetto and now reaching the Champions League knockout phase.

A part of this success is down to his excellent relationship with technical director Paolo Maldini. The pair represent one of the most close-knit couples in Italian football, so much so that they would like to continue the journey together for many more years.

This is what Gerry Cardinale managed to establish during his meeting with the management ahead of the first leg of the UCL last 16 game against Spurs last week, while the Turin press believe Juventus want to convince him to join.

Massara has an excellent and long-standing friendship with Max Allegri as well as mutual professional esteem, though that does not mean he will jump ship. Massara is contracted at Milan until 2024 (with an option until 2025) and is working to improve the squad in view of the future, and a top four finish has a big bearing on that.

Meanwhile, the chief scout Moncada is also apparently in Juve’s crosshairs but he is appreciated by the old and new Milan owners for his methods and the work done on the market with a limited budget, with Malick Thiaw the latest example.

His contractual situation is being discussed because his current agreement is set to end in July, and while many teams have taken an interest in his situation he seems very willing to remain at the club and continue his work.

  1. Why anyone would want to work for Juventus instead of Milan is a mystery to me. I guess Massara can be excused since he is from Turin. But Moncada shouldn’t leave. Juve are a bunch of cheating scumbags.

  2. Sure they aren’t worried said by Americans that they are gonna put their own people to propose players like dele bashiru or just a nobody with worth 300.000 nice champions League team and winner of the scudetto looking to players that a team from serie c would want
