Report: Milan submit offer worth €35m for Napoli playmaker

AC Milan have made a sizeable bid to Napoli for their playmaker Eljif Elmas, according to a report from Turkey.

According to what is being reported by Taner Karaman – the host of the Turkish TV A Spor TV – Milan have offered €35m for Macedonian midfielder Eljif Elmas and the proposal was sent to Napoli just two days ago.

It is news that must of course be verified given that seemingly every other source is reporting that Milan want to close a deal for Charles De Ketelaere for the same figure, while Elmas has a contract expiring in 2025 with the Neapolitans and after Lorenzo Insigne’s departure it seems tough to imagine them letting him go.

The 22-year-old is a very flexible profile though given he can play as a box-to-box midfielder but also as a playmaker or even out wide if necessary. Karaman also adds that his former club Fenerbahce would be entitled to €1.5m as per the resale clause.
