CM: Milan offered €30m Sassuolo youngster – idea of exchange involving Gabbia emerges

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Sassuolo forward Giacomo Raspadori through his entourage which has prompted reflections, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that the Milan management are thinking of signing another forward in addition to Divock origi in order to ensure the future of the striker role for the immediacy and beyond. Raspadori was proposed to the Rossoneri as his contract is expiring in 2024 and – unlike Scamacca and Frattesi – he has not renewed.

The 22-year-old closed the season with 10 goals and 6 assists in Serie A and has publicly declared that he feels ready to move to a top club, and while Raspadori is a young profile that Milan like, they remain focused on other targets such as Renato Sanches and Sven Botman at the moment.

Sassuolo’s request is around €30m, but possible counterparts to lower the cash sum are not excluded and the idea is to include Matteo Gabbia in the operation, who is attracting interest from Sampdoria.

Meanwhile, Juventus have identified Raspadori as a replacement for Morata if they do not find an agreement with Atletico Madrid for his permanent stay, while West Ham United are also keen. Milan, therefore, might have to make a call quickly.

    1. Raspadori isn’t a real center forward. He played 95% of the matches on AMC or AML. I agree that he is a better purchase but signing him isn’t the same as getting Scamacca or excludes the other signing. Of course we can’t sign both as we have no money to buy 2-3 proper players.

      1. “Raspadori isn’t a real center forward.”

Yes. And that’s one of the reasons why he’s better for Milan than Scamacca.

  1. Unrealistic.

Milan need 4 academy products (over 21 years old) in the squad, otherwise their squad size will be reduced.

Currently Milan only have 4: Plizari, Calabria, Gabbia, and Pobega.

    1. maybe that is why we made an enquery on christatnte? don’t get me wrong, I like the guy, a proper midfielder…not Tonali calibre, mind you.

  2. Maldini can label Gabbia, Rebic or Saelemaekers as transferable players to cash them to get other players. To get Sanches, Botman, De Ketelaere for new No. 10 and Zaniolo for RW, milan need 15+30+30+40=115 millions with only 100 millions budget. They need to sell Rebic and Saelemaeker. Raspadori can come over Noa Lang to replace Rebic, who can play as left winger and second striker or false nine by money from Rebic plus Gabbia as counterpart.

  3. Let Raspadori go where he’s needed. Milan, presently, needs a striker dat can guarantee 20 goals or thereabout.
