CM: Milan offered midfielder by Roma – the position of Maldini and Massara

The meeting between Roma director Tiago Pinto and his Milan counterpart Ricky Massara gave them a chance to speak about a few players, and one of them was Jordan Veretout.

According to Calciomercato.com, the pair had opportunity to discuss various transfer market issues including the permanent transfer of Alessandro Florenzi, and the name of Jordan Veretout also ended up on the table as part of those talks.

The midfielder is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans and the Giallorossi are looking to sell him even though he is under contract until 2024. The idea of a sale to Roma’s big rivals Napoli emerged, but the Frenchman was also proposed to the Rossoneri.

Stefano Pioli knows Veretout well, having coached him in the two years he had at Fiorentina, and the costs of a possible operation would be lower than other midfield targets.

However, Milan are not currently attracted by the possibility of signing Veretout and continue to have other priorities such as Renato Sanches of Lille above all, with Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz an interesting alternative.
