Tuttosport: Milan open talks with Real Madrid to drop Diaz price tag

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have opened talks with Real Madrid to try and drop the asking price to make Brahim Diaz’s loan deal permanent, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are trying to get the price for the Spaniard lowered to €13-15 million.

Diaz is on a two-year loan from the Spanish side which will come to an end on June 30, 2023. The redemption fee to make the move permanent is currently set at €22 million but Milan feel that is now too high and not a figure they can reach along with other potential deals.

That is why talks are already underway with the Spanish champions to get the fee discounted.

Diaz has become an important part of the team for Stefano Pioli in the past 18 months and he is the regular starter behind the striker. It would be a blow to lose him and need to spend money or wages on a new equivalent.

  1. Please dont pay! WE have CDK and Adli who can play there, and please give Maldini a chance in the middle, or on the right.

Actually, can Maldini play on the right does anyone know? He cant be worse than the current two.

  2. Diaz is maybe only worth current player on loan to be bought. Still, De Keteleare is paid already and he needs to show something. 22 million is too much for Diaz, and Milan got so many gaps in team. Look what happened with looserspool because they didn’t invest in proper midfielders for Klopp way of plays. The same thing is now happening in Milan. Milan needs quality central defender for Romagnoli departure, quality defensive midfielder for Kessie, quality striker for Ibrahimovic and right winger. Still with Diaz and De Keteleare we don’t have quality attacking midfielder. Those are all spots for Pioli way of play.

It takes at least 100 or 150 million to bring quality in squad, and some of the players should be sold.
Like Milan took Vranckx on loan and they saved 10 million for Enzo, but after this season, Milan actually lost 2 million of loan, plus maybe champions league position plus 120 million of Enzo value now.
That’s why investing in proper player is essential and not just counting the money like Americans do.

Very soon we will realise of bad RedChicken management.
