Filippo Terracciano is back at AC Milan after his loan spell at Cremonese, which is an experience that helped him grow a lot.
Terracciano was sent out on loan to Cremonese last summer, following one and a half years at Milan with limited playing time (only 816 minutes). The clubs agreed to add a buy-out clause in the deal as well, which would become an obligation upon certain conditions being met.

However, one of those conditions was survival for Cremonese, so when they got relegated, Terracciano knew that he would return to Milan. This doesn’t make the loan spell a negative, though, as he played an important part this past season.
Speaking about it on Gazzetta dello Sport’s podcast, as transcribed by Milanpress, Terracciano admitted that getting relegated was a tough blow. At the same time, as said, he got a lot of playing time and thus grew a lot.
“If you’re at a club like Milan and you don’t play much, you lose the experience you gain on the pitch, but you learn many other things.
“I experienced it [my move to Milan] with great enthusiasm, but you feel that everything is different. A mistake at Verona or Cremonese is not a mistake at Milan. Even the media events and the rest, there are pros and cons.
“Relegation? It was tough, but for me it’s a year of growth. I will take the positives from what I have done, between minutes on the pitch and leadership. Every Sunday in a relegation battle, you are under stress. I have learned a lot from that,” he stated.
Maybe now we’ll finally play him in his actual position, instead of trying to make him play as a makeshift Left Back…
What is his actual position?
This season I think he has played the vast amount of matches in a 3 cb formation as I’ve kept half an eye open on Cremonese but over the years he has been an all round player and previously I would have said a rb or wb. If Cremonese isn’t gonna utilize their buy option then he can be a fairly decent backup player in my view and is still young.
