In the midst of the chaos of the January window, Alphadjo Cissè arrived at AC Milan perhaps a little bit in the shadows, but it was anything but.
Over the past few years, Milan have been keeping tabs on Cissè and what he was doing with Hellas Verona. Many had thought he had star potential, and now, after years of tracking, they hope he can fulfill that potential in Rossoneri colours.
The Milan plan
PSV seemed to have everything wrapped up for the young attackers, but the Diavolo swooped in, completing a deal for around €8 million, and Calciomercato.com writes that there is a plan already in place for the youngster.
For now, Cissè will remain on laon with Catanzaro, completing the second half of the season in Serie B, where he has already been impressing. The hope is that he finishes the season strongly, of course, and then he will return to Milanello in pre-season.
There he will be assessed further, and Massimiliano Allegri will be the one to decide his future. He is a long term project, but there is a possibility that he is kept in the squad for next season. Alternatively, a Serie A loan will be looked for.
If he must be loaned out, it should be either to Netherlands, or Belgium not in Italy.

Where are all the Italian youth? I don’t recall there being so few exciting Italian prospects coming through the ranks. I think the last Italian player that had everyone excited about raw superstar Italian talent was Balotelli maybe? It’s been a while, not even defenders? France and Spain seem to be churning out young talent relentlessly. Not a good signal for the Italian National team.
In my opinion, it’s not so much the lack of talent as it is the willingness to trust them. I’d like to believe that if Yamal came through our ranks, he’d be in the futuro by now. So many exciting talents that were never trusted but kept getting loaned out till they lost the spark. So yeah, while you have the Cubarsis and the Yamals being trusted with play time, there’s the Camardas whom they say is very good but won’t trust to play in the first team. That’s Italy for you
