Libero: Pioli infatuated by €20m Hellas Verona hat-trick hero and wants him for next season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were already keen on signing Antonin Barak from Hellas Verona but his hat-trick at the weekend has certainly tempted them even more, a report claims.

According to Libero (via Calciomercato.it), head coach Stefano Pioli is in constant dialogue Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara to discuss the next moves on the market and how to improve the squad, with one of the areas of concern at present being the No.10 role where Brahim Diaz – who is on loan from Real Madrid until 2023 – has really dipped in performance level.

Milan are big fans of Antonin Barak who has 8 goals and 4 assists in 18 games so far this season, consecrating the good work shown under Ivan Juric last season by becoming even more decisive under new head coach Igor Tudor. Against Sassuolo on Sunday the Czech international scored a hat-trick that ended up being match-winning in a 4-2 victory.

The paper claims that Pioli has been struck by Antonin Barak’s performances and would like to have him for next season. However, Juventus and Inter are also admirers and the asking price of the attacking midfielder should be around €20m, but he is a profile with more physicality than Brahim Diaz and could therefore be perfect in the 4-2-3-1.

  1. I see the potential how he played against sassuolo, has good technique and physical strength. Good for squad depth, but not as a key player for milan.
