Tuttosport: Milan planning a move to show their long-term faith in Pioli

The AC Milan leadership see Stefano Pioli as the head coach to take the club forward and are planning to demonstrate their faith in him, a report claims.

Milan have been on an upward journey since Pioli arrived early in the 2019-20 season as the team moved from the bottom half of the table to the Europa League spots in the remainder of that campaign, then fought for the title and secured a Champions League return in 2020-21 and ended their 11-year Scudetto drought in the last campaign.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Milan and Pioli will continue together despite the fact his current deal expires in June 2023, with confirmation arriving from Paolo Maldini before the match against Chelsea.

The parties will soon meet to discuss the extension of the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss and rather than just exercising the club option of a renewal until 2024, the feeling is that the parties will agree a deal that goes beyond a new two-year period.
