AC Milan do not want to enter into player exchange deals if they do have to let Rafael Leao leave the club, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are intent on fully cashing in on Leao if they have to sell him rather than enter a player+cash deal which can end up being a waste.
Both Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are still fully committed to getting the Portuguese star to sign a new contract and secure his long-term future with the club.
If that does not materialise though, Maldini is convinced that he can make around €100 million from selling the former Lille and Sporting CP man. He would like all of that value to come to the club in cash, rather than get less money and a player in exchange.
That rules out the possible plan of selling Leao to Chelsea and getting Armando Broja and/or Hakim Ziyech as part of the deal.
Terrible Milan has not resigned any player that starts to get global recognition.
Milan will loose Leao in summer. We can predict in fee no more than 80 mil €. CDK costs 35 mil€, Okafor costs 35 – 40 mil now. Milan buy expensive, not finished players, and loosing for free best players, or now newly, selling for low price.
That will affect results for team and fan base – loosing more money.
How is e.g. 80M€ “selling for low price” when the players is getting 1 year away from walking away for free?
Great news if true.
Cash only and then use that cash to fill out the needs in the squad with quality players from accros the world instead of overhyped, overpriced, overpaid Chelsea rejects.
That Broja character has scored a handful of goals in his career and they are talking about 35 mil.
I wouldn’t mind Milan taking a shot at Adama Traore in the summer. He will be free agent and can be had for an affordable salary. He would bully serie A down the right wing
That’s good politics. If there is no other possibility, if it is really not possible to renew his contract – which in my opinion should be the very first option – then let the club negotiate him for the highest possible fee, w/o discounts or any lower quality player involved .
