CM: Milan player aiming to impress against Napoli in bid for new contract

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer is very keen to impress during the Champions League game against Napoli on Wednesday night, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Danish defender is expected to start the game in central defence alongside Fikayo Tomori and a big performance could go a long way to ensuring that he is offered a new contract.

The former Sevilla defender is very keen on staying with Milan but following his lengthy injury spell, his influence on the team has waned.

His experience will be trusted for such a big game over Malick Thiaw or Pierre Kalulu who is only just returning from injury.

His current deal is set to expire in June 2024 which means that if Milan would like to sell him for a fee, it will need to happen this summer. The other options are to extend his contract or let it expire in the following summer.
