Jacobone: Milan ponder winger exchange deal with Aston Villa to land Philogene

There has been a lot left to be desired on the wings for AC Milan this season, and a possible shakeup could be on the cards, according to a report this morning.

With Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, Milan have two top-quality wingers, but the depth in the positions is not fantastic. Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze arrived as two players with high potential, but there have rarely been showings of any progress.

Starting with Okafor, the winger was never meant to be the main guy in the Rossoneri picture, but instead, he would offer quality depth on the front line, with the view of continuing to grow. If Leao left and things had gone to plan, there probably wouldn’t have been too great of a need for a large investment to replace him as Okafor could step up. This has not happened though.

The story is largely similar on the right – an underwhelming 18 months after being signed with great promise. Pulisic and Chukwueze arrived in the same summer, with a starting role not guaranteed to either, but the American’s tantalising form has made opportunities hard to come by.

Partner this with a failure to consistently impress, and once again, it has been a struggle.

For this reason, it is not a surprise that the club are considering a change, and Alessandro Jacobone has reported that the club are considering a swap deal involving either of the two wingers and Jaden Philogene.

The Englishman has struggled to find an opportunity under Unai Emery, so a move in the summer could be possible if things do not improve for either of the three players.

  1. What about rayan cherki he’s a young talented player who’s been rumored to come to Milan before and can play attacking midfielder something we need and right wing which can be helpful to give Pulisic a break sometimes, right now in attack we are mainly relying on Pulisic, and when he’s not there philogene isn’t the type of player who can carry the attack but cherki can do that

  2. Chukweze should be the ideal candidate for the exchange, Okafor is more versatile, better physically, better tactically and technically, and will be more useful to the club in future, Chukweze is a one trick pony, who honestly looks rudderless and a very average player who even lacks the basic football knowledge need ..,

      1. I think they have both failed to impress. Okafor did OK when coming on as a sub into a crowded box. But neither is good enough for a start. not to mention this is the second year now. We expect more.

        1. And some Redbird Lovers thought Okafor could easily replace Leao and we wouldn’t have a drop off in talent LOLOLOLO 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

          1. Foguinho. You won’t understand the Redbird anger, or at their fans.
You are new here. Maybe take time to observe, before calling someone you don’t know anything about on this forum a Redbird lover.

  3. Okafor is ideal exchange but if this happens we might be cooking also why not try the same for Summerville at west ham or Ernest Nuamah?

  4. Acmilan should give out chukwueze for Dominicco Berardi of Sassuolo then Armand lauriente for Okafor it will make a lot of sense at least this players are natured they understand serie a but another Acmilan should musah time to improve.

  5. I’m personally not interested in seeing Philogene leave the club. I think we’re too quick to get rid of our young talent.

  6. As a milanisti who watched Hull city alot and leeds united, I would say Philogene is better than neither okafor or chukeweze and would do certainly worse even though he was certainly Hull’s best player last season (there wasnt much competition to begin with either than Greaves) he lacks a lot and couldn’t even put big numbers up in Championship never mind Serie A. Unlike Summervile who excelled at Leeds united and proves himself time and time again despite West Ham’s poor form. But the best option out there to replace chuke and okafor is probably Beradi as he already have established a name for himself in the italian top division eventhough he is significantly older he has proved to be 10x better than any of these players mentioned.
