AC Milan need to sign a new starting right-back this summer and there are currently two names at the top of the list.
Milan have several priorities during this summer window, including finding two new starting full-backs given the various exits and uncertainties on both sides. However, there is nothing to suggest that any signings in either role are imminent.

Two right-back targets
Among the names for the right side, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) is Guela Douè. He currently plays for Strasbourg and is the older brother of Desiré, who shone in the Champions League final for Paris Saint-Germain.
The other target is Martim Fernandes of FC Porto, who has established himself as a starter at the age of just 19. For the Portuguese, however, there is a major obstacle: his release clause of €60m, which gives Porto leverage.

Regarding Milan’s targets, sporting director Igli Tare stated a few days ago: “We will sign a right-back and a left-back.” While fixing the midfield seems to have been the priority, there are currently two rather large holes in the starting line-up that must be filled.
The start of preseason is less than a week away, and while there is an extended time for preparation given the lack of international tournaments, getting the squad ready as soon as possible must be the aim.
