Milan president discusses Europa League exclusion; impact of Giampaolo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has once again moved to reassure fans that exclusion from the Europa League is of benefit to the club.

We exclusively reported that the Rossoneri were in fact the ones lobbying to not participate in the upcoming edition of the tournament in order to help get slacker Financial Fair Play parameters.

UEFA obliged, and Scaroni believes it is best for the long term health of the club.

“It did hurt to go out of Europe, but it did us good by taking away the burden of Financial Fair Play,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am convinced the directors will make some excellent operations on the transfer market.

“Giampaolo has really impressed our players, there is a great deal of enthusiasm and I am convinced we’ll achieve good results. I was struck by the desire to play good football.”
