AC Milan are looking at Guela Doue for the role of starting right-back, but competition is building to land him this summer.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, the Doué brothers are living a different June: one is in the United States, the other is on the websites of Milan fans. Désiré is playing the Club World Cup with PSG – and the idea of winning it is not far-fetched – while Guéla is a Rossoneri target.
Indeed, the source confirms that he is one of the most appreciated players for the right-back position. Milan, everyone knows, will change a lot in that area of the pitch given the idea is that Emerson Royal will go on loan and Kyle Walker will not stay.
Enquiry made
Milan have taken information on Doué, who is liked because he is the right age – 22 years old – and has interesting qualities. Doué moved from Rennes to Strasbourg a year ago for €6.5m plus bonuses and today they consider him to be worth around €20m.

There is competition for Milan and it comes from Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt in particular. Chelsea, of course, can lead the game in this story: the ownership of the two clubs is the same and the operations between London and Strasbourg have been on a preferential track.
The name that stands out is Andrey Santos, a Brazilian owned by Chelsea who moved to Strasbourg on loan in January 2024. He is a central midfielder but in the last French championship he scored 10 goals. So the Rossoneri, if they really want Doue, might have to hope the Blues don’t.
12M for Coppola….
brah…
Tare?
What do you mean brah, I know you are obsessed with having only Italian players in the squad but stop being dumb, the article is following up on the team searching for a FULL-BACK and COPPOLA plays in CB.
They don’t even know any of the players we’re after, neither the Italian players they want us to sign. They’re just following what some people are saying. They’re just obsessed of Milan having an Italian team. That’s why every name attached to Milan, they come up with a random Italian player not even know it they are good or not.
Well, this may be news for you, but Milan is an Italian team. So to have italian players should be a priority.
The priority of Milan is to win. The current crop of Italian players has very few players considered world class, and Milan should always be striving towards world class. This is not the Italian academy.
It took signing Dutch players to bring Milan back in the 80s. The Italians aren’t even that good right now.
@VanBasten, that team had Maldini, Baresi, Galli (later Rossi), Costacurta, Tassotti (later Panucci), Albertini, Ancelotti, Donadoni, Evani, Stroppa, Simone, Massaro, Virdis. All champions. The Dutch Masters were clearly world class and important, but the team had an Italian spine.
Totally agree. And I’m so fed up with all these people saying the current crop of Italian players are rubbish. Well guess why, because no one gives them a chance. Do you think maldini pirlo gattuso inzaghi all just woke up one day and became world class? No they started somewhere!! And I wish we would take a risk and develop these players. A player like doue or yamal would never play in Italy. Because the guys running the shows are scared of loosing as are half the fans…
Milan needs good players, their nationality does not matter.
Milan w/ few Italian got scudetto.
then now Milan w/ much less Italian got 8th.
some of u said it was Dutch trio, they are best of them not bunch of random or bench-warmers in their own country league.
young (prospect) Italian is better than bunch of washupd expatriat esp this is Italian club w/ only Italian competition
Well unfortunately buddy, you kind of have to suck it up, because we need a certain amount in the team for quota, so might as well get the best ones you possibly can afford
If you really don’t follow the football news these days, then bad news. Brighton have bought Coppola
Seems Milan were never really interested in him. The noise seemed to come from the fans & journalists.
Ah, they want money. We tend to drop out of ‘the race’ when that happens 😔
So we aren’t signing him because we cannot compete with any other team.
Current U21 RB Zanotti and Kayode are promising. But alas Milan aren’t interested in Italians.
Those who said Italians aren’t good enough, how did we do buying Mersin and Walker?? Huh? Yes a big waste of money.
I also think Coppola for 12 million € is an excellent deal, given the way he is playing now. But no Milan aren’t interested as he isn’t EPL benchwarmer.
Emerson**
Looks like Milan are also looking at Vanderson of Monace for the RW/RB.
AC Milan is literally a Manchester United of Serie A.
They buy players, miss use them and sell them cheaper.
