Milan Primavera 1-1 Bologna: Domnitei’s early opener not enough but losing run ends

Milan Primavera took an early lead against Bologna on Sunday afternoon but they were unable to see out the win, eventually drawing 1-1.

The Primavera came into the game off the back of a damning week in their push for the play-offs. It began with 2-0 home defeat to Cremonese on Thursday, meaning Giovanni Renna’s team had dropped back into the bottom half of the standings.

This was then followed by a 3-2 loss away against high-flying Cesena at the weekend, a game the Rossoneri twice trailed by two goals in, and that put them down in 14th.

After three consecutive defeats, the Rossoneri ended their slide with a 1-1 draw against Bologna today. The match started off well for Renna’s team, who took the lead after just 30 seconds: Caramella reached the byline on the right and played the ball to Domnitei, who beat Franceschinelli with a fine turn.

The second half however was dominated by the Rossoblu, and the equaliser came in the 55th minute: a corner from the left, headed home by Papazov. From that moment on, the visitors grew in strength, and for 20 minutes, the Primavera had their backs against the wall.

After the 1-1 in Novara (the game was moved with the PUMA House of Football unavailable) the Rossoneri climb to 38 points in the standings, still in 14th place. The Rossoblu remain tenth with 42 points.
