AC Milan’s Primavera side were unable to build on their derby win over Inter with another three points, but they did come from behind to get a draw against Cesena.
Federico Guidi’s side scored three goals in the first half against their city rivals last Sunday en-route to a 3-1 victory, but the first 45 minutes frustrated them this time as they went in at the break one goal behind.
The simplicity of Cesena’s goal will have frustrated the coach, because all it took was a free-kick from the right flank that was sent into the area by Castorri and headed in by Perini to put the visiting side ahead.
With 20 minutes left it looked as though Milan were heading for a rather disappointing defeat, but Perrucci won a penalty just five minutes after coming off the bench. He took the spot kick and with a bit of luck he squeezed it under Veliaj’s arms.
For Guidi’s team it is now time to return to thinking about the UEFA Youth League and more specifically Tuesday’s match at home against Bayer Leverkusen, after the draw against Liverpool last week.
