CorSera: Milan begin probing potential Leao replacements as difficult negotiation awaits

AC Milan’s management met with Rafael Leao’s lawyer Ted Dimvula yesterday to begin discussions over the renewal of the winger’s deal.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports that it was an interlocutory meeting rather than a decisive one, and in actual fact the feeling is that it will be a long negotiation full of obstacles to overcome.

There is the compensation owed Sporting CP, the player’s high demands and also the confusion that has been created about who has the mandate to manage the affairs on behalf of Leao. The French lawyer who met Milan yesterday has rather tense relations with agent Jorge Mendes as the two in fact have different ideas for the future.

The team that have begun showing interest most is Manchester United as some scouts watched him in the Champions League games against Chelsea, and to avoid being caught unprepared in case of a sale the management are thinking about replacements.

Before meeting Dimvula yesterday, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara spoke with the Belgian lawyer Ledure who, in addition to working on behalf of Lukaku, also represents Noa Lang of Club Brugge and Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea.
