AC Milan appear to be open to the possibility of letting Rafael Leao leave, and a name has emerged to potentially replace him.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Leao’s future at Milan beyond this season is no longer certain. Bids from the Premier League or Saudi Arabia – the two main markets for the Portuguese – will be listened to by the management.
Who might replace him?
If the Rossoneri were to decide to part ways with Leao and perhaps not renew his deal, it is obvious they would have to invest in his replacement, given that they also plan to put money into signing a centre-forward as well.
One name that is on the list is a 20-year-old that the directors believe have ‘largely untapped potential, and an affordable price tag’ in Antonio Nusa. Italians will associate Nusa with the games in which, for Norway, he literally tore apart the Azzurri defence.
He has scored only two goals in 27 games for RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga side are currently fifth in the table, and therefore out of the Champions League places for the time being.
Failure to qualify for the the top European competition could convince the Red Bull club to sell him, with a valuation of around €35m at the moment. Milan are ‘keeping a close eye on the situation’.

As a player when he has the ball on his feet and a bit of a time, I love watching Leao magic… it’s why we watch football sometimes. Having said that, I would instantly offload him now while we can still get some money in return and get Nusa in, he is much better from the work rate and will fit right into our team.
Sorry but I think the time for us to wait for Leao to change his attitude and body language and work for the team is over. At least I do not expect anything any more… perhaps better for him as well. Another team, another constallation may be good for Leao as well.
While I agree with you, Leao played almost the entire game on the right side of the pitch against Lazio, while Pulisic was only on the left. That’s weird. I would be upset too if I were him lol.
That is so not true.
Leao didn’t play on the right at all and I mean at all.
Even if you check average position by players in the Lazio game, both Pulisic and Leao are really close to each other slightly to the left.
Leao has never played on the right.
He have to give it all regardless his position on the field . Off load him and move on. Enough is enough
Flo, you sound like Trump with your fantasy stories with zero truth behind them.
This can’t be an Allegri target, his ideal Leao replacement would be Casemiro
Are we looking at Nusa because Allegri needs him for his team? NO.
We aren’t looking at anyone Allegri is specifically asking for. Like with Andre, we are looking for more flip opportunities again.
Sure, we’re going to pay €35 million for a player who has scored 2 goals just to flip him. If you read what you wrote, you wouldn’t have posted it.
Nusa is not what Allegri needs. Allegri wants to play 352. So he doesn’t need another winger. Are these people at Milan regarded or what? The problem is not the formation change to 433. The problem is that we don’t have the right players Allegri needs to play 352.
If we can sell Leao and buy at least 2 potential starters, that’s an obvious yes for me.
That being said, I don’t think this type of approach is going to work. Sell Leao and take the profit to Allegri and say “point to the 2 you want” and then go get them, it’s that simple.
Nusa with poor stats are you serious
If Leao goes to the Premier League he’ll just turn into Jadon Sancho, he won’t get the patience and baby hands treatment he’s gotten here at all. He’ll be forced to run the full 90, which I’ve never seen him do here. I don’t see him making that move.
in my opinion if we may need winger why not go back to hauge
This. JP Hauge would be my choice.
Nusa is great player but injury prone he plays 5 games for the whole year
For the derby Leao was fired up, do or die, don’t go out the entire week…
Next game “he lacks the commitment to the shirt and the professionalism, and misses team lunches…” need to sell him!
Honestly…
