AC Milan are ready to make a move for Flamengo midfielder Evertton Araújo, according to a report in Brazil.

It is believed that the new head coach Ruben Amorim has earmarked the midfield double pivot in his 3-4-2-1 system as one of the areas that needs some improvement, and there have been links with Sporting CP star Morten Hjulmand who he knows well.

However, Jogada10 report that Milan are preparing a €15m bid for Evertton Araújo, one of Flamengo’s stand-out players. Milan’s interest in the young midfielder is not recent, as the Italian team’s scouting department had been closely monitoring the player’s progress.

The information about the imminent offer was initially released by the Coluna do Fla website and confirmed by radio station Itatiaia. It comes after scouts watched the Brazilian league closely last season, leading to the attempt to sign André from Corinthians.

The Italians even reached a verbal agreement with the player, who agreed to waive his percentage of the transfer fee. They formalized an offer of €22m for 70% of his economic rights. However, Corinthians president Osmar Stábile backed out at the last minute due to strong protests.

At 23 years old, Evertton Araújo arrived at Flamengo in 2022 – initially to reinforce the U20 team – on loan from Volta Redonda. His consistent performance and rapid adaptation convinced Flamengo’s management to exercise their option to buy the player permanently at the end of the 2023 season.

Even with a squad full of international stars and veterans, the midfielder managed to carve out his own space through merit and secured a starting position in the team. Last season, he played 36 times and has already made 27 appearances in the first half of this year alone.

  1. Hahahaha so nothing’s changed. The coach wants Hjulmand, and he gets some 15m Brazilian guy no-one’s ever heard of. Maybe he’s good, I don’t know, but once more this seams sooooo counterproductive

    1. From what I’ve read online, he’s a very good CDM, but very bad with the ball at his feet, and at vertical passing. Don’t we already have Ricci for that? It also doesn’t suit Amorim’s system at all

      1. “From what I’ve read online, he’s a very good CDM, but very bad with the ball at his feet, and at vertical passing. Don’t we already have Ricci for that? ”

And let’s not forget Musah will be back too. We could have an entire midfield of clumsy players if we wanted to! 😁 Instead of Modric’s occasional 100% passing accuracy, the whole triplet could get 10%.

    2. My thoughts excactly! Although I never believed for one second we could come near a player like Hjulmand considering his status and pricetag!

    3. Who said the coach wants Hjulmand? It’s just the press making things up, linking former players to former coaches. Players from the Portuguese league are always massively overpriced. The budget is going to be around €15 million. The idea that they’ll spend €30 million on Hjulmand is insance.

  2. ANTONIO SILVA, Hjulmand- Fofana, LWB- Estupinan, KANG-IN LEE, Ramos- Leao, Icardi/Lukaku- Gimenez,
    AMC- RLC + Musah, Comotto, Chukwueze, Camarda;

    1. Can you mention a single game where Fofana was good last season? A player who never runs, never covers, can’t pass a single pass and miss so many goal chances can’t be a Milan player! He is much worse than Pobega who at least fights and make goals. Get rid of him.

      1. Never runs and can’t pass a single pass? Fofana can not pass, really?! This alone disqualifies you
from any serious debate on the topic in question.

        1. Agreed. He’s clumsy, but with his amount of assists and recoveries, you can’t call him out like that

          1. You know what’s funny? I wrote Hjulmand-Fofana meaning Hjulmand would replace Fofana, I don’t think Rivera got that at all.

    2. @revolt what is the color of your problem? for the umpteenth time i have watched you-once an article drops and it involves potential transfers, you don’t drop your opinion, all you do is come up with players that would fit the coach’s formation.

Why don’t you try your hands on being a real-live coach and let’s see if these your Manager Mode formations and players you cook up from your video console will work
      this guy sef ehn

      1. Every now and then, I get this kind of question. It’s not my fault you’re not able to read between the lines, everything there is to know is actually well hidden in my comments including and containing lineups and formations (and sometimes I even add some text too explaining my choices and revealing my rationale), you just need to know how to look for the clues and notice the meaning behind it all, that invisible thread so to speak.

        1. Does this space looks like where we indulge in IQ test exercises? at least everyone here try to air their views in the best way everyone can comprehend, why can’t you do same?
That is why i will still ask again what’s the color of your problem?

  3. He plays for my team in Brazil and I can say that Flamengo should never accept anything less than 25 for this kid! He has evolved so much recently and even started hitting insane long shots. This kid can come to any team and take over the midfield.
