This summer, it appears AC Milan will make Alexander Sorloth their priority signing in the attack. However, he will not be a massive investment, it seems.
There have been several names put forward for the Milan striker spot next season. Even if Sorloth signs, more are likely to be linked and in the meantime, it is impossible to suggest that the rumours and links will slow.

It appears that they have their first choice now, though. Work has been done with Sorloth’s entourage as well and they also are happy to proceed with a move to Italy but only at the end of the season. After all, he has a Champions League semi-final on his mind…
Sorloth’s price
As Gazzetta dello Sport, via Calciomercato.com, wrote this morning, the Rossoneri ‘do not want to spend a fortune’ on the Norwegian, who is turning 31 later this year. Instead, they value him at €20 million, with a bit added on in bonuses.
Gerry Cardinale wants to keep the option of raising the fee, but not by much. After all, he has invested enough into strikers at this point.
In an ideal world, a move would be completed before the World Cup to ensure that he arrives at San Siro. A strong world cup from the striker would substantially increase interest and probably the price, too.
Not what the Diavolo want, certainly.

Anale kan inte fotboll
LMAO!!! 20mil plus bonuses yet Nkunku was worth almost 40 huh? Lets see how that plays out.
cardinale “the owner” request: Sorloth?!?
foolani request: Nkunku,
Maldini request: Ibra,
Tare request: Jashari,
Berlusconi request: Gullit, Weah, Papin, Sheva, Beckham, Dinho, R9, Z
If it was sustainable he wouldn’t have sold the club.
lmao.. who as a club with single owner wouldn’t be sold? even a small team will be sold, never mind talking the big teams that has ambitious. — No teams won’t be sold.
Instead, Better question to ask: what brain is in the head.. lol 😀
I reckon you’ve got a point — I should have pondered about that.
sold after lot of tropies,
in the beggining Don Berlusconi request Gullit aka Mbappe in that time not Sorloth
I really avoid this kind of argument in here because some fans may sound gullible and not put things in proper perspective.
Is it fair to say that that the legendary Berlusconi (God bless his soul) is responsible both for the Revolution and the Decline of our club?
The signing of the likes of Gulit were done with his personal money (maybe illegally transferred from public funds as Prime Minister). Berlusconi stopped investing his personal wealth when he left office, forcing Milan to rely on free transfers and aging stars (like Essien and Torres) instead of the superstars he used to sign. If we judge a president by the funancial health of the club they leave behind, he left Milan in 2017 with a staggering net loss and a squad that couldn’t even qualify for the Champions League.
Before he sold the club in 2017, in his final year (2016), the club posted a net loss of €74.9 million. Over his last five years, total accumulated losses exceeded €460 million. He wasn’t just not spending, he was overseeing a financial model that had become unsustainable.
He eventually admitted he couldn’t keep up with loosing money as he always invested as a fan and wasn’t making money out of it, hence the need to sell the club. If he were still the Berlusconi of the Gullit-era, he would have evolved. Instead, he left a debt-ridden squad that was absent from the Champions League for six straight seasons.
So when we remember Gulit, we should also remember that Essien was also signed by same President, and that the same President gave Juventus €12m for Matri and they used that money to sign Tevez, and that while Tevez won several titles for Juventus, Matri scored only one goal for us, it would help us remain guided in our utterances.
Galliani was responsible for the decline. Berlusconi put that buffoon in charge while he focused on politics. Galliani was the one who started the policy of extending contracts to aging stars and relying on agents to identify talent. Berlusconi would do that himself.
Galliani was responsible for the decline. Berlusconi put that buffoon in charge while he focused on politics. Galliani was the one who started the policy of extending contracts to aging stars and relying on agents to identify talent. Berlusconi would do that himself – Van Basten, Savicevic and Desailly, to name a few, were handpicked by Berlusconi. He had an eye for talent.
Ironically, the decline era was largely between 2010 and 2017 and in that period Berlusconi wasn’t really actively holding a significant office except for when he left office as Prime Minister in 2011.
You really cannot separate Galliani from Berlusconi you know.
John,
Ignore the haters. Your original point is 100%. In this era of football clubs were funded by wealthy individual owners basically out of pocket. Berlusconi decided to spend the money, and that was clearly great for the club, but in the end, after the complete commercialization of football, the entry of hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, multi-national corporations, and possibly more importantly the various FINAICIAL OVERSIGHT RULES implemented by FIFA and UEFA over the last 20 years, the Berlusconi model became completely untenable.
People forget that Milan was forced to sell Shevchenko at his peak (and for a relatively low sum if you ask me), same for Kaka, and then after the 2011 scudetto was completely unable to hold on to the handful of truly world class players we had left at the time (like Ibra and Thiago Silva). Then he sold to the highest but unqualified bidder (Yonghong Li). Clearly money had become an issue.
So you are 100% correct.
Also, people forget that in the late 80s and 90s, Serie A was THE top league in Europe, bankrolled not only by Berlusconi, but the Agnelli family (Juventus), Sergio Cragnotti (Lazio), Parmalat (Parma), and Mario Cecchi Gori (Fiorentina). Lazio, Parma and Fiorentina all went bankrupt at the beginning of the 2000s and went into administration, with Parma and Fiorentina eventually being dissolved and having to start from lower leagues. I think some of the idiots on this site would love for use to spend 100s of millions of euros every year to *maybe* win something and then head for bankruptcy and Serie D to play the derby with Futuro!
Vero, you’re on point.

How much did gullit cost, you guys are living in fantasy world. Mbappe cost over 200m while gullit cost 6 million. Football changed, ffp etc made it impossible for Berlusconi to compete. Sørloth is better then majority of strikers we have had last 10 years
