It seems AC Milan have uncovered their latest gem, and he goes by the name of Christian Comotto. The midfielder wowed in pre-season, but it may just be the start.
There have been several good youngsters to come through the Milan ranks in recent years; Comotto may be the latest. As is common during pre-season, a few youngsters were selected by Massimiliano Allegri for the tour, with Comotto included this year.

Like Mattia Liberali was last year, the midfielder seemed comfortable in the environment and even looked to be on the same level as some senior players, despite it being his first taste of senior football.
Everyone around the club is reportedly impressed, but it seems that the plan will not change. Instead, he will still leave the club this summer.
The master plan
As MilanNews reports, the midfielder showed good qualities over the summer, but he will not get regular football at the appropriate level this season, without leaving. So, the decision has been upheld; he will head to Spezia.

This is a sensationalistic article title. Milan are not parting with Comotto. We’re simply dry-loaning him to help with his development.
It’s more than fine to loan Comotto to Spezia. Despite a good pre-season, he is very young, so there is no guarantee that he will eventually fulfill his potential. So Milan are giving him an opportunity to grow, with a dry loan. If he does grow and does confirm his potential, we’ll get him back. If he doesn’t, we’ll let him go permanently at some point. It’s as simple as that.
Doing well in a pre-season friendly is nice but not proof of true potential and truly high ceiling. His quality did look good but still remains to be confirmed. The vast majority of youth players don’t pay off at the end, even the ones who look good at some point. The ones that do pay off are the exception rather than the rule. How many youngster like Camarda, Torriani, Yamal, Endrick, Estêvão are out there? Not many. Most of the thousands and thousands of young players in the various youth leagues will never reach that level of quality.
With Milan Futuro playing this coming season among the amateurs of Serie D (which is not a professional league) it is best for Comotto to develop at Spezia than with Futuro.
Safe to say that players like ballo toure, and Kevin constant and many more were once youngsters

I dont see any of luigi statement mention red bird or even defending red bird here. It is better neutral, not hating but also not defending . Living with hating in your mind not good for your health
The same things was they have rare talents but the different things that yamal, Kendrick + estevao that the club believe and have some courage to play them in the first team. We know Barca believe in their youngsters. We see yamal, pau cubarsi, marc casado, pau victor, pau prim, andre astrelaga, ansu fati etc. I don’t remember the last time Barca loan out their youngsters to another la Liga clubs.
Milan ? We see camarda, torriani are stagnan. If they believe , they already on the first team. Milan have lots of talent from their primavera: camarda, torriani, magni, comotto, dutu, liberali, scotti, dorian paloschi. Milan must learn from his former coach mihajlovic that believe in donnarumma. Now he on the verge to be most capped player for Italian national team.

The only players who broke into the team in that period never went on loan. When they did they didn’t come back (e.g. Locatelli).
There’s three reasons loans don’t work:
1. Modern football especially Italian football has zero interest in developing youth players, and simply sees them as things that they can wheel and deal in and take some cream (the disclosed figures make no sense but maybe they’re backhanders).
2. Even if clubs were serious about the development, moving to a new club/new job/new place/new team mates/new manager/new training regime/new tactics is hard and disruptive.
3. Since the loaning club won’t own the player they have less interest in developing them.

Maybe Suso and Niang as well but they weren’t youth players.
Technically, this is like a Year Zero without UCL. Milan should negotiate a deal with Maignan to extend and then sell him off. Hand the GK shirt to Torriani. Forget Jashari and play Comotto and other academy players. If things go well and carry on. If there are a few adjustments needed to strengthen the squad, do it in January. Like the previous comments observed, loan spells don’t really help.
Try and sell off those you want sell off and if you can’t, let them earn their money. Include them in the squad. Adli, Bennacer, etc., and all. Things may pan out better. They may have an inspired season and even get better offers which benefits the club.
Management should make clean break and deal with people with some sense of decency. You have just Série A and Coppa Italia. You can’t send a senior player to Futuro and expect him to command a respectable transfer fee. They should stop all the silly pettiness. I wonder who comes up with such inanities.
