GdS: Milan want to sign five-time UCL winner who has been at Real Madrid for 21 years

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in signing Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez having been linked with him in previous windows, according to a report.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via 90min), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are on the hunt for reinforcements to bolster the quality of Stefano Pioli’s squad without expensive financial outlays, and that is why Nacho Fernandez stands out.

The 33-year-old is on a contract which expires in June 2023, and Milan have expressed their interest along with Roma, Wolverhampton and Inter Miami. However, the centre-back could be offered a new one-year deal.

As per the paper, Nacho Fernandez is happy with Real Madrid and does not want to consider leaving at the moment, but if he did he would be open to the hypothesis of moving to Serie A. The only obstacle is the big salary that David Beckham’s Inter Miami have offered to convince him to move to the USA.

Nacho has been at Real Madrid since 2001 when he joined the academy, having been part of the first team since 2011 and with five Champions Leagues to his name.

  1. Yeah this is just baseless rumor spread by his agent. Milan doesn’t need another CB when they already have Kjaer, Tomori, Kalulu, Thiaw, and Gabbia.
