MN: Milan’s rebirth under Allegri continues – message sent to the management

Massimiliano Allegri once again demonstrated why he is one of the best coaches in the business with the derby win over Inter, sending a message to the club.

As MilanNews write, Allegri is one of the key architects of this resurgent campaign. The derby victory is just another fruit in the sweet cake that the coach has managed to concoct this season, despite the difficulties encountered at various points.

Milan sit firmly in second place, with a Champions League spot almost assured and a small hope remaining of a Scudetto dream that hasn’t yet completely evaporated. Now the ball is in the club’s court: Milan, if you truly want to grow, must invest in Allegri’s ideas.

The man to go all-in with

The last two seasons are fresh in the memory. The 2023-24 one with Stefano Pioli on the bench was tainted by six derby losses in a row and the Europa League exit to Roma, with the squad perhaps pushed to its limits after a long era.

The Fonseca/Conceicao experience in 2024-25 saw an increasingly rebellious and disorganised dressing room. The Rossoneri’s failure in recent seasons has been primarily a matter of teamwork and solidity, or lack thereof.

The first medicine Allegri wanted to give Milan was precisely this: restoring a strong identity to the team, making virtually every member feel important. The latest clear example is Pervis Estupinan, who was trusted to start and delivered the derby-winning goal last night, his first for the club.

Now, the management must support and back Allegri’s ideas and plans for next season. There can be no division while the coach is tasked with selecting the new ingredients for a new Milan side that will hopefully play in the next Champions League.

If these goals are met, the project will be able to continue to grow (and not just in sporting terms). If, on the other hand, the requests of Allegri are ignored, then the club risk a similar backlash about division and infighting, harming what is being built.

  1. Milan has 60 points after 28 games. Last year they had 63 points in the entire championship.

Let’s ditch Allegri and get Xabi Alonso or De Zerbi.

  2. Is this guy ok, in the entire Championship they had 63 points. 28 games with 60 points, remaining 10 games more, so they can do more than what they did last season.
