This morning, a report has suggested that AC Milan have made progress regarding two signings for the summer. A positive start could await them.
What was looking to be a pretty stress-free summer has become more challenging in recent weeks. Rumours about stars have begun to stream from the walls of Casa Milan and now questions need to be asked of the project.

To minimise fear and perhaps make early showings of their intent next season, the Rossoneri have been active in the mercato already. Whilst nothing can be done yet, the club are preparing to enter the market with a bang.
Two (almost) sealed
As Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) reports this morning, talks have been underway with different interests for a while now and it seems that two areas could be fixed before the season ends.
After frequent meetings between the management and Massimiliano Allegri, the Diavolo seem to have their first two additions arranged. Of course, nothing is a done deal until the summer, but they have received all of the right signs to make assumptions.
The first regards Leon Goretzka, whom Milan have courted for months now. The German has been a target since before the January mercato and whilst he may not be as quick as he once was, he remains a top player.
A contract is waiting for him and he has all but given the green light. He has asked to wait until the end of the season before signing anything, but it would seem that the Rossoneri have won the race there.
Then, the other success regards Alexander Sorloth, who is the leading contender to be the new striker. The Norwegian gave his ‘Yes’ yesterday and intends to ask Atletico Madrid for a move at the end of the season.
Milan already have his approval and €20 million plus bonuses could seal the club’s yes. A move will hopefully be made before the World Cup, with the striker ‘ready’ to take on Serie A.
Two strong moves already.

So after reducing pace in the squad by about 70% last summer the plan is now to remove it completely? Cool, not like it’s a necessity in the modern game. Such a completely backwards club
Odogu (too young, couple of years in lower Serie A side or Serie B will help), Estupinan, RLC, Fulkrug. Leao and Nkunku might still stay.
Goretzka and Sortloth should be direct upgrades for RLC and Fulkrug. Same profiles but are just better. And if Moretto’s words have any value, Gila should also come in the summer making him direct upgrade on Odogu.
Rabiot – Modric – Fofana/Goretzka
??? – Jashari – Ricci
only one left in midfield is either vice-Rabiot or vice-Modric depending on how Allegri sees Jashari, who has played both roles recently.
In terms of SPEED ONLY, RLC is a Train and Goretzka is a Snail….
Other skills like ball control, dribbing passing short oass long pass through pass, Goretzka is much better than RLC but in modern game Speed is very important skill.
Goretzca would be an upgrade on Ricci and Jashari as well. So it’s all open as to who will be leaving. When Both all are fit, Allegri has been choosing RLC ahead of both Jashari and Ricci.
Sorloth is a machine, plays winger and striker and is a big presence, do you people watch any games at all?
He’s perfect for Allegri like Mandzukic was
I agree somewhat. Whereas Sorloth’s presence is important in the box, it’s Goretzka’s pace I’m worried about. He’s barely played at Bayern this season because he’s not up to par given their speed of play. Hasn’t done mush for Germany either, starts off the bench there too. Sure he’s strong, but we suffer in transition, needing pace and we struggle against the low block which requires great footwork (that Leon isn’t known for) and quick passing…
Let’s all just be happy for once. May not be the best players available, but at least these signings show that there’s a clear plan
Also, every time I see the Sorloth man play I’m like “he could do really well in Serie A”
Depends. Is Sorloth signing to be our starting no.9 or depth ?
so who do you want as starting?
Moise Kean? He’s injured till August and he is nowhere near that good this season
Retegui? Go see Italy playoffs and come back and tell me how you think he’ll be any good, he also isnt worth anywhere near 70m. Also he is injured for 4 months as well.
Guirassy? We dont have 80m to spend on a 30 year old
I have to disagree here. I see no clear plan here. I haven’t seen a clear plan from this management in the last 4 years.
What is the plan? Who are they building the team around? Every year turnover… Useless players come in for a system of play that we haven’t even identified…
After the Scudetto we had a core players to build around. Now they are all pretty much gone. What’s the plan?
the plan is to clean/ sell all the scudetto squad build by egoistic-maniac legend who reject to join 1st Galacticos/ SAF MAnU & play/ work only for Milan. replace them w/ cheap random non-Italian players.
to sow him that here in AC Foolani, none bigger than the club aka financial scudetto aka most expensive board members in the league
Donnarumma, Kessie and Hakan left after the Scudetto win… FOR FREE, that was the beginning of the downward spiral, all under the helm of the legend himself.
Three players worth a combined €150m left for free and the legend couldn’t use him charm to make them renew.
In their quest to rebuild, they haven’t been successful.
clearly you dont watch milan
Dollaruma and Gbhakan Left for free and we won the league without them
it’s only kessie that left after winning
so yess Maldini wasnt perfect but he build a winning milan that had stability unlike whats happening today… if
Ok my bad I do not watch milan.
1. Donnarumma
2. Hakan
3. Kessie
4. Romagnoli
5. Castillejo
All left without us receiving a single penny, all under a maestro who knows how to build a winning team. Building isn’t the challenge, it is maintainability, signing players isn’t the only challenge it is renewal of contracts. Imagine FIVE of our first team players leaving for free and no fuss was made about it, but the only time we ever earned money from players (Tonali and Reijnders) hell was let loose, isn’t that double standard?
We say Tonali should have been bandera, could he have been more bandera than Donnarumma who came through the academy ranks?
Have you asked yourself why all these players were allowed to run out their contracts without Maldini and Co. taking necessary action?
They are counting on the Champions League, and that’s where we need solid and experienced players who can immediately be a real reinforcement for the team. Rabiot and Modrić are examples from last year. I hope we will have more specific news for Gila soon!
Milan must sign midd player who play forward ball….behind deff line. Modric is ok but if milan can bring gent greek it will be part job done….good dribble and skils…can be future Cash in…with sorloth ferran tores is good option for all mid and attack positions. He can be false 9
Sorloth would be an upgrade on Gimenez who days seem numbered.
