The Milan management are thinking about signing a new forward to inject some life into an attacking department that is struggling with injuries, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working around the clock despite the fact that the transfer window closed only two weeks ago, and they are carrying out negotiations for the renewals of the most important players in the squad and are starting to plan the next moves in terms of transfer.
While Olivier Giroud is experiencing one of the best moments of his career, at the age of 35 he cannot be asked to start every game given they are coming every three or four days now, and with Ante Rebic and Divock Origi out that is what he is being asked to do.
A number of profiles are therefore being evaluated in terms of transfer targets for the centre-forward role, and a familiar opponent in Noah Okafor stands out.
The 22-year-old Red Bull Salzburg striker – who scored against the Rossoneri earlier in the month – is a profile admired by the scouting area.
He is technically skilled, powerful and quick in attacking the space in behind, so the feeling is Okafor has everything it takes to enhance Pioli’s attack.
After scoring against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge he is now attracting plenty of interest, but Maldini and Massara were impressed and will make an attempt in view of next summer, with the current valuation around €35m.
