Tuttosport: Milan reject opportunity to sign Gabriel Jesus in January – the reason

Gabriel Jesus has been offered to AC Milan for the January mercato, but it seems they will not take the opportunity up.

Massimiliano Allegri has wanted a physical striker this season, which is why Niclas Fullkrug is on his way to Milan shortly. However, another ‘proper’ striker probably would not be rejected, given the lack of goals from their true options.

Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez, two expensive operations from the past 12 months, have not impressed this season, and an exit could be on the cards.

No to Jesus

If they are to depart, though, it will not be to sanction a move for Jesus, as Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports. The Brazilian has been offered to the Rossoneri, and there would be wiggle room in his salary to make a deal occur.

Nevertheless, there are concerns about his physical condition, which makes a deal impossible to commit to. He has only just returned from an injury, and the past few years of his career have been plagued with time out.

It is worth noting that the deal has only been rejected at the moment, so it could reignite later in the mercato. For now, no, but with longer to prove himself, things could change.

  1. Its always the same problem with this club- unsure about physical condition, big salary, loan with option. This managment is dead. If only Cardinale opts to sell the club and those clowns(ibra moncada and co) go with him. We need someone who knows what he is doing. Its not that we dont spend and dont have money, its that they dont have a clue how to spend it properly

    1. I disagree. He is probably on the way to Saudi Arabia or MLS. He literally has had injury problems since he was 20. It would get only worse after he passes 30. What do you want to loan him for? So he plays golf with Leao and Puli when they are both not available which is very often?

  2. Arteta’s led series of poor purchases is not very difficult to offload. His excessive quest for skills and entertainment always led us into trouble. Now getting rid of a player we paid a whopping 45m pounds for, is a very big problem, despite being only 28 years!

  3. Sign him! Stop shying away always about wages & be giving excuses. You can’t win league with what you are doing. Sign him, please. He is good. Any player can be injured one day
