Ruben Loftus-Cheek looks likely to stay at AC Milan this summer, after convincing Ruben Amorim of his worth, it seems.
At the start of the summer, Loftus-Cheek was one player that most deemed expendable. However, it now seems that he’ll stay. In fact, Milan are even starting to begin renewal talks with him and his entourage.

So, it seems difficult to see a world where he leaves.
If things don’t progress with an extension, maybe things will be reviewed, with less than 12 months on his deal. However, if we get to that situation, then it’ll be a discussion. For now, we must instead focus on a summer where he has re-established himself.
Loftus-Cheek’s summer of demand
Speaking on his YouTube channel – where he also discussed the plans for Yunus Musah – Fabrizio Romano offered some information on Loftus-Cheek’s summer, as MilanNews relays.
“There’s a lot of talk these days about the players cut by Amorim, but there are also some who have convinced Amorim in recent weeks, such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who scored against Manchester United.
“For the Englishman, AC Milan received significant inquiries from Italy and one from England in the last two or three weeks. However, AC Milan put them on hold because Amorim liked the player during training.
“With Loftus-Cheek, however, it was a matter of working on the pitch; what Amorim saw he liked, and so the discussion changed.”
It is clear that the midfielder has the ability, but consistency is where he’s struggled. If he unlocks that this season, who knows what could happen.

If Amorim thinks he can use them he knows why. You’re probably working in some office and you think you know? If you watched any of the friendlies you wouldn’t ask these questions. RLC did more than good, Musah against United was good, getting into his new role under Amorim. And Estupinan is to be sold if they find someone to buy him from what I’ve read. But against United he wasn’t that bad. Or you only comment when they play bad but ignore when it isn’t like that? Ok, like I said, I forgot I’m talking to Pep Guardiola.

Based on how long you’ve been on these threads, you’ve clearly seen what Musah and RLC can and can not do. What does Fofana, Nkunku and Tomori leaving while players like Musah and RLC staying tell you? You’ve watched both of them play before and three games already this preseason.
is it really because Amorim “wants” to use them? Or could there be another reason that Amorim can’t publicly disclose? I doubt it’s because he wants to transform them.

Yes, it was my thought process that Nkunku was a completely unauthorized purchase that Furlani cooked up with Busardo that Tare had nothing to do with. SO much so that Allegri didn’t know what to do with him and stated so.
As for Nkunku, Tomori and Fofana, you can’t tell me that Tomori is worse than Terraciano and Fofana is worse than either Musah or RLC for example. SO their departures have nothing to do with sporting merit or “disruption” to the locker room, while Leao has been runnin ghis mouth right and left about wanting to try something else.
I think that these players are on the market solely because of how much Milan can get out of them so that Gerry doesn’t have to put up more money that he has to. Milan ain’t getting sh1t for neither Musah or RLC on the market, nor has there been any demand. So Amorim will be forced to make them work.

Tomori is in the last year of his contract, so that is probably the reason. You either renew or sell, right? That is what serious clubs do. So, if they don’t want to renew him, goodbye. I’d keep him if it was up to me. Fofana, well, worse doing what? He is 100% worse than Musah physically and in carrying the ball quickly out of the defence, which will be his main task from what I saw. He is also much much worse than RLC if we check them as AMC players where RLC will play. So how is he better? Doing what? Playing Modrics position? Nobody needs that from Musah or RLC.

RLC would go to Atalanta or a PL club easy, they would sell him for 15M in 2 minutes. Sarri loves him. So what you say doesn’t make sense. Why would they keep RLC that had offers? It is also possible that Amorim has his opinion what is disruptive. He thought the same about Mainoo and well, he was wrong. But it doesn’t change the fact he got Rashford out of the club the moment he could.
And I doubt he’d play Musah in the midfield duo in multiple games just to maybe make it work. He obviously sees exactly what I see. A player that needs to be polished for a specific role and can be world class in it. Not 17 roles and 3 positions like he was played in. And 6 managers in how many years? Musah obviously doesn’t have the best football intelligence out of the bunch, doesn’t mean you can’t adapt him to be a top player in his position, doing his role.

But i feel like in Fofana’s case you’re comparing him to the hypothetical forms of RLC and Musah. Neither of them are flawless. Fofana with all his flaws, can still contribute to disruption in midfield imo, whereas both RLC and Musah are worse at it objectively.
Musah making smart decisions at the end of a drive is a hypothetical at this point, not a reality. Reality is he f’s up the last decision. Just like RLC has attacking tendencies better than Fofana, but those too are inconsistent, as is his form. So yea, hypothetically if Amorim can improve both of them, they would be better than Fofana.
The problem is Amorim doesn’t seem to have done his homework if he’s needing to still evaluate players that for years have been the worst performing ones, or for example needing to see what’s what in, say, Estupinan’s case… So I’m not so sure of his sense of evaluation or ability to transform players. I sincerely hope you’re right.
In general, I just don’t have any faith in any decisions authorized by Gerry that aren’t primarily financially motivated. Hence my take on the market moves.

I think you are wrong about this, we have spent 100m. Which is maximum netspend we can do without Champions league. FFP only allow a club to go 75m under budget, the owner cannot invest anymore, we have to rely on sales for further investments.

For RLC, he might be one the best and most consistent players thruout the pre season. He can answer questions what the new coach needs. So it’s only logical that the coach asks him to stay.
Why sell a player that is playing well?
With what am seeing this board are trying to play dump and been deceived by a little performance in friendlies then they will praise a player to be used for a key role that need quality sound attacker that can be dangerous with counter attack… This man doesn’t know what he wants maybe is afraid of making decisions, if Loftus cheek will stay in milan for next season for a chance , he must change position as replacement for Rabiot, cos that’s the only position he could manage to play , is not a quality player as Box to box and also the present wing is been use… So that man should be very rational about is decisions of any player is allowing to stay or else they should leave …… Passes for him is erro, can’t play one on one with defensive opponent, dribble is out, speed is low but he has strenght and can hold ball but that should aso be corrected, not to hold ball for long , that is , if is staying for next season in Milan…. We need sound quality players in that attacking , that’s very dangerous and in midfield that can press and locate player with long pass …. Amorim is not working yet till we see new faces talented players …
I understand why Amorim likes RLC. Every coach at Milan did. The problem is his fitness and consistency. If he can resolve that this season he he’ll be for the team.
As for Fofana there are rumors of a swap with Juventus for Ten Koppmieners. If this is true then Milan should go for it. Koppmneiers is still a top player and he would do well with Modric or Jashari next to him. Which means we can move Rabiot further up the field. Then we won’t be so reliant on Pulisic and Leao.
Also, there are rumors of a switch with Tomori for Tavares. The only concern is Tavares fitness but if he passes a medical at Milan we should go for it.
Exactly this. I believe that if he improves his fitness and can manage to stay consistent for a long period of time he can prove to be a solid squad player for the team.
Also it seems that he has been improving his fitness levels. He only missed 6 games last season due to injury compared to the previous one where he missed over 20 games.
I’m not even made RLC has literally convinces every coach he’s a great player. He looks the part I must admit… until you see him play a full season. At least with Amorim he’ll be used in his natural position.

He just gets injured after the first month and struggle to gain maximum fitness before he gets injured again. If he can stay fit he is a very valuable player to have since he can cover quite a few position and is physically gifted.

At times,is how to use the players that matters,not buying buying, last season if allegri was using ricci well,we would have qualified for champions League,all the chances the fofana was loosing, technicality gifted Ricci would have scored them,we lost Enuf points due to lack of not converting our chances, where fofana always find himself in good position to score. He deserves his chance (which he never had one sadly because fofo the clown was somehow preferred) and regular, consistent playing time. Same with RLC who’s been incredibly unfortunate.
