CM.it: Milan rekindle interest in Köln midfielder who would be available on a free

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will reportedly ‘revolutionise’ their midfield in the summer transfer window and the management once again have their eyes on an FC Köln star.

According to Calciomercato.it, Milan will certainly bid farewell to Tiemoue Bakayoko who will return to Chelsea, while it is very unlikely that Aster Vranckx will be bought permanently from Wolfsburg and the situation of Tommaso Pobega remains to be evaluation.

That is why Ellyes Skhiri is back in Milan’s sights. He is under contract with Köln until the end of the season and he has expressed his desire not to renew, with the Bundesliga side fearing that there is a top club behind this decision which could allow him to play in the Champions League.

Milan tried to sign Skhiri in the summer of 2021 but could not find an agreement but now he would become an opportunity on a free transfer.

However, teams from the Bundesliga, Premier League and Ligue 1 are also keen on the 27-year-old, who has 5 goals in 24 league games this season from a defensive midfield role.
