Mundo Deportivo: Milan remain in race for Barcelona winger amid Leeds relegation threat

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have put an offer on the table for Barcelona winger Ilias Akhomach but he could choose to move to Leeds United, a report claims.

According to the latest from Mundo Deportivo, the 18-year-old forward Akhomach will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season and is in the final stages of negotiations over a contract with Leeds United of the Premier League.

His signing must be finalised this March but things seem to be advanced enough that he is now being left out of the first team plans, despite making his debut under Xavi at the age of 17, playing three games.

The teenager has several proposals on the table, although the one that is most advanced is that of Leeds. Milan, Sevilla and Club Brugge are also keen and have held talks.

Akhomach wants to move to a club in the first division and that is where a move to Leeds could hit a rocky patch because they are in the relegation zone and currently likely to be relegated.

The player’s entourage are confident that they will stay up so at the moment no other option is being discussed, but in the event that they did go down things would be reconsidered.
