CM: Milan ready to negotiate over €30m Portugal international as player gives approval

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ‘in the front row’ of clubs interested in signing Renato Sanches from Lille as his recent words have reignited speculation, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports that the excellent relationship between Milan and Lille could certainly favour negotiations for Renato Sanches given the Rafael Leao, Tiago Djalò and Mike Maignan deals plus the recent discussions for Sven Botman. The Rossoneri have long identified Sanches as an ideal repacement for Franck Kessie.

The negotiation between Milan and Kessie’s entourage is going through a stalemate and the contractual deadline is drawing closer, with attempts to complete a January move to Tottenham not successful, given that Kessie wants to finish the season with Milan.

Maldini and Massara do not want to be caught off guard and that is why Renato Sanches has emerged as a target, with the player himself approving of the idea of a move to Italy and his agent – Jorge Mendes – being the same man who represents Rafael Leao.

During the negotiation for the extension of Leao’s contract the idea of Renato joining Milan was also discussed. In June the Portugal international will be only one year from his deadline with Lille but he has a €30m asking price, with the interest also shown by Arsenal driving that to the current level.

Renato Sanches spoke to the press yesterday too and couldn’t resist stirring the pot, stating that he is ready for the offers that come in and he knows of one club above all that want him.

  1. I’d love to know what Paolo and Ricky are TRULY thinking about the idea of starting these “negotiations” with empty pockets. Two club GREATS, are forced to deal with situations regarding strengthening the squad by using tactics that are shameful for a big club like Milan!!

  2. If we replace Kessie with him we will get an upgrade. His defensive contribution isn’t much worse than what Kessie delivers, but going forward they can’t be compared. Sanches can actually drible and provide key passes/assists every game.

    1. Come on now Franck had been great defensively. He secured many games for us.

Fans are not loyal too. One thing to be saying he should stay – but 5.8 is not great offer for prime contract of his life, hes 26 – the other is to forget all what he has done.

Without Donnarumma Kessie Zlatan we would be in Conference league now
