Alex Jimenez has left an impression in his first couple of Serie A starts, and AC Milan are looking to renegotiate the terms of the deal with Real Madrid.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report this morning, Jimenez was once again one of Milan’s best players during the win over Verona on Friday, as he was in his debut with the first team against Genoa.

The Spaniard is perhaps the brightest spot in a troubled period for the Rossoneri. After an excellent start to the season with Milan Futuro, which allowed him to gain experience in the professional field and show he was ready, he has kept the momentum going.

Jimenez has been in Italy since the summer of 2023, when he arrived on loan from Real Madrid after being spotted by Geoffrey Moncada and the scouting department. He was bought for €5m, signing with Milan until 30 June 2028.

However, Los Blancos didn’t want to completely lose control of the player and they have a buy-back which can be triggered next summer for €9m or the summer after that (2026) for €12m. Therefore, they have quite a big say in his future.

Inside the offices of Casa Milan, however, they are confident that the terms can be renegotiated thanks to the excellent relations with Real Madrid. It is a bit like what happened in the past with Brahim Diaz, who returned to Spain, but after three seasons with the Rossoneri.

It won’t be easy to convince Real Madrid to let go of Jimenez, with their current right-back options Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez well over 30 and less depth on the left. Milan will try though, because they believe in the player.

  1. Sounds like we have minimal chances of keeping him if Real decide they want him back.

The better he plays for us. The less chance we have of keeping him.
Great system we’ve got going with Real…

  2. This article makes no sense. Your intro says Milan want to renegotiate the terms Real has. And then provides no insight into what we want to do. Other than cross our fingers and hope Real don’t take two very generous buy back options that they have over the next 2 years.

Is that our plan to renegotiate?
    Just hiding from their calls?

  3. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes, they can’t wait to gift something to Milan. Ask them to increase the clause when he started playing good 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Or just give up on him..

  4. Ummmmm….Real have $$ they are willing to spend and we do not AND Real have competent football people running their club and we do NOT – so thoughts of Jimenez staying are fantasy.

Therefore, it’s goodbye Jimenez – we will develop you FOR Real Madrid and they will simply pay the buy back – because they aren’t stupid or cheap like Redbird and will not let their talent a Talent leave for peanuts – like we allow ours….

And that is the difference of having an experienced football CEO running the club vs a banker

  5. Real Madrid wouldn’t have sold him to Milan if our management did not agree to a buy-back. If they don’t agree to a renegotiation, it’s still good business for us if we get €9m or €12m for him in a few year’s time. We have so many players that we haven’t been able to sell for even €6m.

  6. Our dunce management making brain dead decisions as per usual. It’s too late now fools. You shouldn’t have agreed to it in the first place

    1. Sure, taking a talented player who performs well is a brain dead decision. You learned nothing from the Diaz loan. As I said, sending him back would maintain good relations with Real Madrid, and Jimenez is evidence of that. If Real Madrid take Jimenez back, then they’d be happy to loan another young talent, such as Guler, knowing we can develop them. We’re not in the position yet to complete for the best players in the world, and won’t be until the stadium issue is resolved, next decade.
