AC Milan will use the international break to try and make more progress on the renewal front, with the management looking to extend three more contracts.
Over the summer full-back Davide Calabria put pen to paper on a contract extension while in the past few weeks Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have also managed to close and officially announced the renewals of Simon Kjaer and Alexis Saelemaekers until 2024 and 2026 respectively, but they are not done there.
MilanNews reports that they will now try to secure the long-term future of Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez. The talks are progressing well with the entourage of each player and there is confidence that they will be able to strike a deal with the trio who are obviously of fundamental importance for the project.
Contacts have been underway since the summer with Bennacer’s agents as well as those of Hernandez and Leao, whose deadlines are set for 2024 and the target is to extend them to 2026, like they did with Saelemaekers.
There will also be a significant increase in salary as part of it. Bennacer and Theo currently get €1.5m net per season and this will be doubled with the addition of bonuses, while Leao earns €2m net and his salary will also be raised.
