SM: Milan on the hunt to replace Ballo-Toure – three names in Serie A on the list

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are evaluating the ideal profile deputy to Theo Hernandez as Fode Ballo-Touré is likely to leave this summer, a report claims.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it write, Ballo-Toure has not convinced Milan and that is why Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are already hard at work looking for his replacement. There are already three names on the list: Fabiano Parisi of Empoli, Andrea Cambiaso of Genoa and Aaron Hickey of Bologna.

These are three young players that would represent a valid alternative to Theo on the left lank. Parisi’s first season in Serie A has seen him show good consistency under Andreazzoli’s orders, while Cambiaso is having a breakout season at Genoa with four assists and a goal in 25 appearances.

Hickey meanwhile is in his second year in Serie A but is two years younger than the others, and he has already scored 4 goals this season showing himself to be a gamble that paid off for Bologna thus far.

  1. Hickley seems like the type of player that would make the most sense as he can play on both left and right back positions and even in the midfield and is yet to turn 20 and is equally good with both feet. He would have great potential in growth and already has over 50 matches as a prlofessional under his belt. His valuation though might be a hurdle for a backup aqquisition as he currently is valued at 15 mil at trasnfermarkt.

    1. Hmm can see the other two also can cover various positions so actually all 3 of them would seem like viable opportunities in that sense.

    2. 15m is the least bologna would like to start nego… im sure
In fact.. hickey would love to join n see his countrywoman christy grimshaw already in the rossonere..

      1. yeah im sure you are right but it was also more for the clarification that he propably would be a bit too expenssive for a current back up player but n the event theo were to leave in a few years or something we would then propably already by that time have a more than qualified replacement at our disposal.

    1. Well i would have loved us to keep him but the player semed to demand a sale because he wasnt happy about not getting any minutes and propably read the writing on the wall with theo ahead of him. Still not playing in the dutch league by the way so calling them stupid is ridiciulous in the sense that they have gotten us a very long way with no great funds available and you call them sturpid when we clearly has the smartest managemenemnt for the last decade.

      1. Martin.. u re absolutely.. correct..
Milos is far from ready to start at senior
Even he doesnt understand full of tactics in italy…

        1. I was actually really hopefull of his time with us but the fact how he handled his departure posting a negative comment in regard of the club and then deleting it afterwards kinda tells me that his head is to big for his own good as you simply can expect to be guaranteed minutes at his age.

      2. Yes, but why wouldn’t the others feel the same way. Hickey just got capped at 19, why would he stunt his growth by coming to Milan to sit on the bench? I say find a solid veteran, a la Florenzi, who would be good enough to get the job done and would be happy sitting on the Milan bench having gotten to a point in their career where they understand what their ceiling is.
