AC Milan will have to fix some gaps in the squad during the summer window, and the biggest is the centre-forward role.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report this morning, Milan need a true No.9 for next season and this will be the management’s main mission in the summer. It’s no secret that in January, the Rossoneri attempted to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace, who failed his medical.

Kean and the others
This summer, Milan will once again be looking to sign a top striker, and one of the first names on the shortlist is Moise Kean. The paper adds that Massimiliano Allegri – who knows him well having previously coached him at Juventus – had already identified him as a preferred signing last summer.
The Fiorentina star has a contract until 2029, with a €62m release clause that runs from July 1st to 15th. However, the current season has been disappointing for Kean, who could decide to move clubs at the end of this season.
The Viola striker isn’t the only name in the running: Dusan Valhovic, for example, remains a name to monitor (his contract with Juventus is expiring), as is Mateo Pellegrino from Parma who is perhaps more of a gamble.
Also on the table are two more intriguing names. The first is Al-Hilal’s Darwin Nunez, who is on his way out after Al-Hilal signed Karim Benzema in January. The other is Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus, whose contract expires in 2027 and who recently changed agents to the one who represents Allegri.
It shouldn’t be Kean, transfer fee too high and he hasn’t proven to deliver on big stage.
Nunez will be attract a smaller fee plus he could deputise for Leao.
Gabriel could still do but too many injury issues of late, plus the fee won’t be cheap and Arsenal could use the transfer to haggle on Bartezargi.
Nunez is the cheapest viable option of you ask me.
The problem with Nunez is that he is too similar to Santi. Allegri likes (wants) a target man. Someone bigger, good in the air, someone that can take up space and in doing so, free the wing areas. Nunez isnt that man. Nunez, like Santi, try to be the mobile CF. Much like Firmino was at Liverpool, but obviously a lot less effective.
We need an actual #9, idk how were even fathoming the idea of Jesus, who is just another leao. We’ve proven time and time again we need guys like giroud and jovic up top to actually FINISH CHANCES. This ridiculous delusion thay we can keep playing wingers up top and it will eventually stop failing miserably is absurd. Its time to enter reality

Did score enough to win us the scudetto and turned a lot of Milan-fans to Giroud-fans. I didn’t rate him one bit before he joined us but he won me over pretty darn fast.
Compared to every other striker since Inzaghi retired, I’d say he has been the best – by a huge margin. Well, maybe Zlatan was a bit better during the first season before getting injured. But stilll, doesn’t change the fact that he was a great striker for us. Did what was needed.
Agreed re Giroud. Not a Shevchenko, but a thoroughly decent striker. Ibra actually scored more goals in his second season back than his first, and was also better than Inzaghi in his first spell in terms of goals per match, so I’d say Ibra has probably been our best striker since Sheva, then Pippo, then Giroud, then Bacca.
