A new name has emerged on AC Milan’s radar as they assess potential midfield signings for the summer, a report claims.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Massimiliano Allegri would like a new starting-calibre central defender and central midfielder, in addition of course to the big investment that is expected in a centre-forward.
Mario Gila is the preferred option to bolster the defence even if getting him from Lazio for less than €25m will not be easy. Leon Goretzka is the chosen one for the midfield, because of his experience and his winning CV.
Kone also on the list
If Goretzka were to arrive, the idea would be for him to start alongside Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modric, forming a trio of midfielders that are all over 30 but all have plenty of quality, games and trophies in the bank.
What about the others? Ardon Jashari and Samuele Ricci will remain in the squad. If Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek – whose contracts expire in 2028 and 2027 respectively – were to leave the club, a couple more players would be added.
Among the candidates is the young Brazilian André from Corinthians, who the Rossoneri seemed certain to land for €15m plus €2m in bonuses before the São Paulo club backtracked. It’s only natural that Milan will continue to look for other players.
One of these is Sassuolo’s Ismael Koné, who has had a very impressive season so far (five goals in 26 appearances) in his first year in Italy. The Canadian midfielder of Ivorian origins is liked by all the big Serie A clubs and could be one for the future, to add to the rotations for next season.

Very good young player.
These are the young players Milan should target and not players like Musah.
Good old Allegri with his favourite lets get the team older and slower whilst the game gets faster. No other league would accept this except Serie A hence why the are so bad nationally and Internationally. I can’t understand how fans accept his slow boring football.
Koné has been outplaying professionals since he was 18 here in Montreal. He left for 6 million euros.
Has a great eye for lanes to the goal, passing ones too, good mobility, decent strength and plays a very complete game.
I’d love to see him in Milan
He’s having a good season but if he comes to Milan is he being taken out of a smaller club too soon? Might not translate well to a bigger club. Example: Bondo.
Allegri has the right approach -TO WIN BIG YOU NEED MEN NOT BOYS.
