Milan target Scamacca on his future: “My priority is to establish myself in Italy”

By Euan Burns -

Milan-linked Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has said that he intends to stay in Italy next season to establish himself.

Speaking during an interview with DAZN (via Milan News), the Neroverdi forward dropped a hint about his future which could work out in Milan’s favour.

Stefano Pioli’s side are one of many that are being consistently linked with a move for the striker. The other team most firmly in the picture is Inter.

He does have the option to pursue a move outside of his homeland but it seems he has no interest in that this summer.

“I think my priority is to establish myself in Italy. Then the market is unpredictable. When there is a decision to be made, we will take the best decision.”

He also added that he rates the quality of Serie A very highly right now and he is focused on the final game of the season with his current Sassuolo side.

“The Italian championship is of the highest level and that would be my priority. Others make the assessments, we’ll see what happens. Now I only think about finishing the season in the best way possible.”

Incidentally, the game that he is focused on is against Milan at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday evening. Milan need a point to clinch the title.
