Ruben Amorim and the AC Milan staff have decided to try keep the players sharp with a friendly match during the break.
Milan won 3-0 against Lecce on Sunday night, but it will be the last football at San Siro for some time. As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report, the three-week international break is a new development to which various Serie A clubs are responding in different ways.

Some are not interrupting their training routine – despite the many players away on international duty – while others like Milan and Inter have granted their squads a week off before resuming work.
The Rossoneri will return to Milanello on Tuesday 29 September, albeit with a depleted squad given the high number of players away with their national teams. Milan had 15 call-ups in total, including the U21s, which is the joint-most in the league along with Como.

Despite the week off, Amorim will remain in Milan with his family, aside from a flying one-day visit to Portugal for matters related to his coaching license. So, he will continue to try and prepare for what is a daunting run of games until the end of October.
Meanwhile, Milan have scheduled a behind-closed-doors friendly against Padova at Milanello for the morning of Friday, October 2 (11:30 AM). Given the absence of so many international players, this practice match will almost certainly involve members of the Milan Futuro or Primavera squads.
