Tuttosport: Milan scout present to watch 23-year-old Frosinone star in action

By Oliver Fisher -

A Milan scout was present over the weekend in Pisa to watch defender Federico Gatti of Frosinone in action, according to a report.

While the need to sign a new centre-back in January is urgent given that Simon Kjaer is out for the rest of the season due to undergoing knee surgery and Fikayo Tomori will miss a month after sustaining meniscal damage, plus Alessio Romagnoli will miss tonight’s game against Spezia so Matteo Gabbia and Pierre Kalulu will get another outing.

However, the scouting department are also looking at options for the future especially when considering that Kalulu is a more natural right-back, Gabbia has been linked with a loan move and Romagnoli is out of contract at the end of the season.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri sent someone to watch Frosinone’s Federico Gatti in action. The 23-year-old has made 17 league appearances for the Ciociara this season, scoring three goals for a side who are still in the mix for promotion back to Serie A.
