TMW: Milan to scout 20-year-old Freiburg defender against Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be watching an SC Freiburg defender closely during their game against Juventus tonight, according to a report.

According to what was collected by TMW (via SempreMilan.it), Rossoneri scouts have been impressed by 20-year-old defender Kiliann Sildillia who is having an excellent season with the Bundesliga side who are level on points with third-placed RB Leipzig and are enjoying a European run.

There are shades of Pierre Kalulu in Sildillia because he is comfortable playing both as a right-back and as a central defender, thus meaning he would be perfect as the right-sided centre-back in Milan’s three-man defence.

The Frenchman is not only known for his physicality but also the acceleration he possesses which makes him the prototype of the modern defender just like Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw are seen as.

Sildillia was bought from the academy of FC Metz in 2000 and he has a deal expiring in 2024. He is currently valued by Freiburg at around €10m as per the report.

  1. Can we stop with the defenders? We are good enough there. Gabbia is a good backup and Kjaer has some left in him as a backup too. We should promote a good youth team player if needed in the future. Focus the funds where it matters. Attack and 1 more quality midfielder.
