CorSport: Milan searching for an upgrade on Messias – two names fit the identikit

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to strengthen in the right wing position ahead of next season and the identikit set matches two players, a report claims.

As reported today by il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri have formulated a very precise vision regarding the winger that Pioli would need to reinforce the right flank of his 4-2-3-1 formation.

They want a player with qualities similar to those of Junior Messias, who starts wide and often gets in isolation but he also cuts inside and causes danger that way, but they want a player who guarantees about 10 goals per season to increase the variety of the attack and spread the production.

This identikit leads to two profiles in particular and the first is Domenico Berardi, who has 14 goals for Sassuolo this season. In June he could finally change clubs, with Milan and Inter on his trail. Sassuolo want at least €35m to sell their captain, so it could be tough.

The other player who has the right qualities is Ismaila Sarr, a right-footed winger who has a good weak foot knows how to play on either flank. He is a champion of Africa with Senegal and should leave Watford in the summer, especially if they are relegated.

    1. He was the only striker who looked like he could score. Much better display than by Insigne or Immobile even though failed to hit the scoresheets.

  1. Berardi not worth if 35m euro , he is not suitable for big game pressure. Even on euro cup ,his performance below chiesa that much more younger than him. For 35m euro we can find more better quality RW than berardi

  2. Sad to say but Italy has lacked quality in the attacking department for quite some time. Save for Chiesa, none of the Italian forwards are dynamic enough – they are fine for the league but don’t stand out in European or international play. Those fans here that want the club to pay 30-40M for players like Berardi, Sacamacca – I just don’t get it. I understand the need for Italian born players – I am all for it. But no Italian FORWARD player (aside from Chiesa) is good enough IMO to help us in Champions League – and especially at those w0-40M prices…

  3. The player they are describing is in fact Palo Dybala, to the teeth. Yes, he has big wages, but we’ll get him for free. Plus, Milan can’t forever hide away from bigger wages!!
