There are several issues that AC Milan faced in 2025. However, the biggest may be off the pitch, where the Curva Sud are in the shadows.
Whilst the issues that surround the group are enough in themself, Milan are left with another big issue. Without the Curva, the support drops substantially. There is a noticeable difference in the noise and feeling of San Siro.

In away games, the effects have been seen. Players have run to celebrate with the away fans who have come in their numbers, with their banners and voices in full effect. Ultimately, it is a sign from them that they appreciate the support and perhaps miss it, even.

Curva Sud situation
Bringing the group back into San Siro is not easy, though. In fact, several challenges present themselves. So, a solution needs to be found, and Pietro Mazzara discussed things a little in his editorial for MilanNews.
In Udine, it felt like we were at the real San Siro. No offence to the Friuli fans, but the AC Milan fans have relegated them to the role of extras during the match and beyond. We’re at a crucial moment, when a definitive decision will be made on the issue of organised support at home.
“AC Milan has also been in touch with the relevant authorities over the past week, and the feeling is that the atmosphere is more positive. Some things need to be sorted out, including those nearly 50 kids from the Sud who were blacklisted, but discussions are ongoing there, too.
“Because the club, from the top management (who have taken matters into their own hands) to the team, wants back that hell of Rossoneri love that is San Siro when AC Milan plays. And we too.

“Some things need to be sorted out, including those nearly 50 kids from the Sud who were blacklisted, but discussions are ongoing there, too.”
Still some commenters around SempreMilan seems to think all the Curva sud is criminal scum, let that sink in.
I wonder if profiling indiviuals on skin color or creed wouldn’t cause a huge outroar amongst the very same people gladly accepting all the Curva Sud getting judged as one criminal entity.
I’ll call it hypocrisy at it’s finest.
It’s the head and those close who control all things Curva. Those are legit criminals.
I’d like to know who in the comments are saying the whole section of what, 5-10 thousand fans are ALL criminals. I don’t think that’s what people are saying. But to not acknowledge the head of the organization that is the Curva Sud is an actual criminal, well…. Let’s not be so naive Martin. And the direction of the entire group comes from those criminal elements
Nothing naive about what I said as I’ve for several months been reading people say good riddance that they all was refused to renew their season cards. That is judging all for a few bad apples actions.
If I’m a criminal should my family and all my friends also bare the burden of my actions ? of course they shouldn’t. We are talking about kids here who was also banned and this is by no means how rule of law should operate, simple as that.
Besides of that has they even been convicted yet ? I’ll also add if people even gets a conviction of any sort of crime should they then not still be allowed to attend football matches or whatever they want to attend when they have served the time. I think they should be allowed to do so as when they have done that its water under the bridge otherwise it will be an absolute slippery slope in regard of judicial certainty.
The naivety is in relation to ignoring the criminal elements that heads the Curva, not the “good riddance”. You just going to ignore that or what? Go look at a couple of documentaries on YouTube like Olihanz for example to understand what’s going on. They have hold on merchandising and resale tickets to the stadium.
Kids? Of course they’ll say that without context and for similar things they do it as a pretext for other things. They’re trying to make the investigations into the criminal elements sound dumb. I don’t know the age limit for accompanying adult into the stadium but if your parent is part of the set of people that got banned initially, then guess what…..
Naive is when you as a supporter in the Curva don Christmas hats in an away game innocently thinking it means the festive time of year when really it was in solidarity to the leader of the Curva who was going to be in jail over the Christmas due to criminal activity. And if you don’t know about that one then I have a bridge to sell you.
And if you want to really understand, I would believe “good riddance” really means the messaging from the group (messaging btw which comes from the leader, not a regular, unknowing fan)…one which pretends to be unwavering in their support for the team but their actions don’t reflect that (Roma second leg tie last year is an easy example off the top of my head). Its not that easy to find their inconsistencies.
“If I’m a criminal should my family and all my friends also bare the burden of my actions ? of course they shouldn’t.” I don’t fully follow this is example/analogy but I presume it’s the consequences of actions. I’ve addressed above what is that means in the context of the article re kids, but to take your analogy a different way: if you have a family member continuously doing criminal activity would you still condone it? (And to what seriousness ? Murder, trafficking, drugs?) This is not a one time thing, it’s ongoing. I get if you had a fam member who did his time etc but this isn’t that. I wrote an example the last time around where I could have stuck to a team which I know were dealing drugs. It’s about time people take personal responsibility and disassociate themselves from these elements. But to each their own.
“Besides of that has they even been convicted yet ?” This is further naivety. Why the assumption? It was on the news. The leader of Milan’s Curva was found guilty of criminal association and attempted murder. 10 years. I repeat, that’s the leader and the messaging we’ve been hearing comes from that attempted murder guy.
Be careful with who you’re defending Martin!
The cheering, chanting and choreography.. beautiful…but what’s happening behind the scenes, let’s not turn a blind eye especially when it’s the head of the organization
“I’d like to know who in the comments are saying the whole section of what, 5-10 thousand fans are ALL criminals. ”
Then go through the comments. Plenty of them treating them all as criminals.
Martin you’re complaining about ppl using generalities while using generalities to justify your complaint. You are an ironic person.
Please do elaborate Nelli because I basically just have made it clear its a judicial issue and that that there are legal principles to abide to in that process. Whether you agree with that doesn’t really matter as that is actually how a legal process should be. The entire Curva Sud has been judged as one criminal entity even when its not.
Again how many people has yet been convicted and how many people has been refused renewals ? I stand by what I said but please do enlighten me as I’m a bit curious to hear what you will pull out of your sleeve.
Well said, Martin and I agree with you 100% here.
Thanks bb.
There are some ‘smart people’ in the sempremilan comment section that really dislike Curva Sud. Go figure.
The idiots who condemn the Curva aren’t even Italian nevermind Milanese. They have no football culture.
You must be one of the idiots that think missing two straight wc and allowing the domestic league to fall from undisputed best in the world to legitimate farmers league is reflective of a great football culture.
One Milan were founded by an Englishman and made famous by foreign players.
Two Milan are an international brand and it seems the international fan base care more than the Milanese if their “beloved” club stays in the city or not. At this rate Milan won’t even host a euro match because of a truly laughable lack of modern of even well cared for stadiums in Italy. This sentiment of serie a can only be run by Italians is the same mindset a$$ backwards logic that has turned the league into nothing more than a feeder league with an increasingly distant past.
Below was a reply to Fabri
What does not being Milanese that have to do with the criminal element that leads the Curva? Y’all be on some type of trip like if you’re not in Italy then your allegiance to the club. I can assure you there is an allegiance as big outside of Italy as the Curva is to Milan. Don’t get it twisted. The reason ppl are not in that other curva is solely due to distance.
Look at how people on Italy, and who live physically nearby.. Maldini’s Heir.. the prime example…. thinks about the club. That’s the sort of lacklustre, fairweather fan support in Milan? Dude was supporting a whole other club last year. I rather be far away and pledge allegiance than be nearby and root for a different club/ pretend to love the club
