Some exits could make way for new midfield signings in the summer transfer window, according to a report.
In the past few days, there have been links with the likes of Leon Goretzka, Nicolo Fagioli and Sven Mijnans to strengthen the midfield department ahead of what is looking like a return to the Champions League.

With Luka Modric expected to activate the one-year clause in his deal when top four is secured, the question becomes about spaces in the squad. The management are working to accommodate Massimiliano Allegri’s requests and this could entail some exits too.
Three candidates
Obviously, Milan’s transfer window won’t be all about incomings. There will also be some departures to free up space for new arrivals, as mentioned above, and the midfield is a prime candidate.
Yunus Musah is certainly on the list of departures. He will return from Atalanta but the American is not in Allegri’s plans, so a new club will be sought for him. Also on the fence is Youssouf Fofana, who currently has several admirers both in the Premier League and in Turkey.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s future is also uncertain. His contract expires at the end of the 2026-27 season, and it’s not certain the club will want to sit down to extend it, despite the player having expressed interest in renewing.
I’d definetly sell Lotfus-Cheek & Musah but not Fofana.
Right now Fofana is the third best midfielder we have and the one with the most line-breaking passes. Yes he is crap when it comes to shooting and his overall play and decision making leaves a lot to be desired, but even with that only Rabiot & Modrić are better than him in our team.
Ideally we should bring an offensive minded midfielder who isn’t crap at defending or another Rabiot type of player. But keep Fofana even if it means just having him as an option of the bench.
Fofana is the 2nd best midfielder in the team. Musah, RLC and Ricci should be sold.
No way Fofana is better than one of Modrić or Rabiot, simply no way.
Ricci didn’t have a good season but because of European quota, we kind of have to keep him, otherwise we’ll struggle to fill a list. And he can at least be subbed in at the 80 minute or something and not screw things up.
Fofana had more impact than Modric. His assists should have been higher if it wasn’t for poor finishing by Pulisic, Leao and Nkunku. Rabiot is number 1.
I respect Modric but Fofana is being underrated this season.
You got eyes man, I have been saying this for long, but people think he isn’t good enough and want him to be sold. Unless we get a good midfielder who can actually pass and cover the kind of ground he covers, he should be untouchable.
No way Fofana had a higher impact than Modrić. Modrić’s ability to dictate the tempo and distribute the ball is second to none in this team. Fofana is just good at finding through balls, in which yes, he is underrated.
Modrić also plays deeper so obviously that mitigate his ability to assist and score compared to Fofana who plays much closer to the goal.
Modrić is better than Fofana in almost every metric you can think of. He played more often, more accurate passes, more progressive passes with higher accuracy. He is better at defending with more interceptions and cleaner tackles. And he doesn’t make the tons of mistakes Fofana makes each game.
There have been quite a number of games where Allegri tried another midfielder instead of Fofana, showing that at some point he didn’t like what he saw while Modrić started virtually every game even though we thaught he’d be just a rotational player in the beggining of the season.
“ Giga94” there isn’t a single stat in which Fofana is ahead. Not even goals or assists and we know where Modric is playing. When people are delusional there is no point…
You’re caught up with statistics. Fofana gets a goal or an assist now and then. Actual play on the field is what matters. Modric can run the entire game while Fofana looks lost.
I think it could be all of these + Jashari. I’d say Allegri would rather sell Jashari than Fofana…
Ricci should be sold instead of Jashari and Fofana. Ricci offers absolutely nothing in midfield.

The only reason why I am not saying he is a complete failure is because it’s his first season in Italy. But paying 40M was too much…Ricci overpaid as well, but Ricci still offers something these 2 never can – homegrown status for CL…

Agreed 100%. The guy is timid, weak, and seems like the biggest misfit of all. Musah, and Ricci can be sold, but even loftus cheek can still.be useful.
No-one will buy Jashari for anywhere near his book value, at most we’d have to loan him out in a similar deal to CdK.
I agree. Big fail like Nkunku in my opinion but at least Jashari is not 28…
Those of you bashing Ricci and Jashari seem to have forgotten Tonali was so poor his first season he had to take a pay cut. Half of the dopes on here constantly crying over him were the same jackholes who were calling for him to be sold after his first season. It takes time for young players to adapt especially when they aren’t playing regularly because Milan were only competing in one competition this season
Tonali wasn’t poor in his first season and came from a low level club. He wasn’t an international at the time either. There’s a huge difference between him and the other two.
I agree, Ricci and Jashari haven’t done anything wrong, but they’re also not going to develop into regular first teamers being used like they currently are. Jashari in particular has hardly been seen since his injury ‘return’ and even then not in the deep lying position he seems best suited to – hopefully he gets a few more minutes if we can secure UCL place with some games to spare.
Yes, that is why spending 40M on “best player of the Belgian league” was idi*tic. Obviously.
If Tare has any actual magic left in him, he’ll offload Musah and Bennacer permanently. That leaves us with Bondo, RLC, Fofana, Ricci and Jashari.
Let’s assume that Ricci is the token Italian guy you have to keep, then Bondo and RLC have to go. Fofana is decent in rotation and you have to figure out if Jashari can get more minutes next season to get something consistent out of him.
So that’s Modric, Rabiot, Ricci, Fofana, Jashari PLUS whoever else comes in. And on top of that we need a 9, better wingers, Gila and another good CB.
And that’s not enough, the guy in charge of bringing in all these reinforcements is FURLANI. 😂

The thing is that… Musah is unsellable. No one wants to pay for him.
