Tuttosport: Milan sent scouts to watch striker in Argentina on Monday – the latest

AC Milan are looking for a new striker and they are keeping their options open ahead of the summer window, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) states that Milan are ‘very interested’ in Mateo Retegui, the 23-year-old Italian-Argentine striker who plays for Tigre in Argentina on loan from his parent club Boca Juniors.

The paper adds that Milan sent scouts to watch him in the match against Argentinos Juniors on Monday evening, with the forward having netted six goals in six games already in the new campaign

The management are big admirers the player and Stefano Pioli likes him too based on what he has seen of him. Retegui has an excellent technique as well as having Italian citizenship, an element that should not be underestimated.

Speaking of which, Retegui has been called up by Roberto Mancini for Italy’s upcoming games later this month given Ciro Immobile and Giacomo Raspadori’s issues, another sign that a move over to Europe could be imminent.
