Rafael Leao could well be about to play his last six games with AC Milan, as Igli Tare is beginning to explore a sale.

As Corriere dello Sport report, the feeling is that Leao has never been so close to leaving Milan in his seven-season adventure. The Portuguese has always been the focus of criticism during his time in Italy, but on top of that, there’s also an environmental situation that cannot be underestimated.

The player was heavily jeered at San Siro when he was substituted against Udinese, and this is a factor the club and the player will take into account when making decisions. Rafa is no longer untouchable: for many Milan supporters, the time has come for him to say goodbye.

this will be discussed shortly, when a meeting between the management and the forward’s entourage will be held at the end of the year. What is filtering through is that if foreign clubs make a significant financial offer for the player, the Rossoneri would be open to negotiating.

A year after the sale of Theo Hernandez, Leao could also leave Milan, with the Rossoneri finding themselves without the formidable left side that brought the Scudetto to Casa Milan four years ago.

Tare probs the market

Now it’s a matter of figuring out how much the club could earn from his sale. How much money would be enough to allow Leao to leave? They’re hoping to reach at least €50m, but the current season has further eroded his value.

His main problem is pubalgia, a nagging injury that has limited him all year, to the point that he’s had to miss several weeks of the season. The inflammation has severely hampered his movement and sprinting, thus affecting his greatest asset.

Even the change in position hasn’t helped him, as the movements required to play as a striker aren’t in line with his characteristics. Furthermore, some of his behaviour on and off the pitch hasn’t helped his image, such as the argument with Allegri over the substitution at the Olimpico.

Which teams might be interested in Leao? Last summer, Bayern Munich and Saudi clubs made inquiries, but Rafa never considered a move to Saudi Arabia. So far, no top-tier Premier League clubs have made any contact, but Milan (and the player himself) hope the World Cup can be a showcase.

The Portuguese would like to stay at a top European club, and will only consider that type of offer. England would be his preference, but a move to Barcelona wouldn’t be ruled out either. His goal is to finish the season on a high, ideally with a top-four finish, then evaluate his future with the club.

  1. Theo also didn’t want to consider a move to Arabia because he wanted to stay in Europe at a top European club, but no top European club wanted Theo. Time for them to reunite. They’ll be the best left side in Asia.

        1. Well you are correct. You wanted to be sarcastic but yeah, you actually got something right for the first time. 😀 Cheers!

  2. Rafa Leao, our best player since 2019.

He is still best Ac Milan player. Whole season injured and playing in different position.

I couldnt see any other injured player regularly playing ?

      1. How much of injuries compare to Leao? He is out of form and he is just enjoying “priviledge”……… if you know you know

        1. Olumighty always ready with excuses for Leao. Like nobody else on the squad is playing thru injuries. Get real. And talking about privilege while defending a player who strolls around the pitch while others run, disrespects his teammates and his coach and still keeps his starting spot…that’s privilege.
The “privilege” Pulisic is enjoying is that he has been Milan’s best offensive player the last 3 seasons all while running more and playing harder than anyone on the team.

    1. It’s surprising how much people forgot Leao is playing with injury, and sacrifice himself to play out of position and yet he has the best number G+A among our attackers, including 2 natural strikers, what more do we want other than that? he is more dedicated to Milan than most of this fair-weather fans.

      1. “yet he has the best number G+A among our attackers”

Correction: SECOND best. After the player you keep bashing in every single post. 😀 😀 😀

  3. First person to leave Ac Milan should be Tare, and hand in hand with Furlani. After this you can talk about transfers. You don’t let mo**ns decide? It will bring more sh*t that we already have.

  4. Look, in reality both Leao and Pulisic will want to leave as there is only room for one when ACM get a #9. Neither wants to be a sub at this stage of their careers. Both want to play CL ball. So, what ever one Allegri sees as the regular starter the other will want to leave. I don’t think selling price will play a huge issue as ACM can’t afford to keep a 50 million euro player on the bench. Nkunku will be a perfectly acceptable backup.

  5. Leao will never be anything more than what he is now. Flashes, without consistency. And given he’s not getting any younger, less flashes and more of nothing concrete.

Figure out the plan for next season. 352? Sell him.
433? Upgrade/address the positions required to play it and use him in his natural position and start planning for life after Leao.

  6. selling Leao/ Puli & keep Nkunku/ Gimenez is beyond stupidity,
look at their stat, contibution, efectivity, potential sell, salary..
we spend 75m & 8m/s salary for both Nkunku & Gimenez to get 6 goals n want to keep them?
Hauge & Piatek feels like it was bargain comparing to them
