CF: Milan’s shirt now worth almost €40m – a breakdown of the sponsorships

AC Milan’s rise in fortunes on the field has coincided or perhaps directly resulted in improved economic opportunities off the field, including shirt sponsorship.

According to Calcio e Finanza, the ‘value’ of the Milan shirt from a commercial point of view now exceeds €30m, i.e. that is the total amount that Milan will get for the various sponsorships that are placed upon their home, away and third shirts.

The Rossoneri today announced an agreement with wefox, who have thus become the first back-of-shirt sponsor in the history of the club, something that serves as a sign that Milan’s attraction is growing.

In addition to wefox, a recent agreement with Bitmex – a crypto platform that became a sleeve sponsor – was signed, in addition to a renewal with Emirates. In recent seasons, Milan have grossed around €25m per season from their agreements with PUMA and Emirates, with the maximum being €27.3m received in 2020-21.

The new sleeve and back of shirt sponsorships will bring an extra €10m, with the partnership with wefox bringing in somewhat between €6-8m. In total, the Milan shirt in 2021-22 could be worth almost €40m based on the below.

PUMA: €13m;
Emirates: €14m;
Bitmex: €5m;
wefox: €7m;
TOTAL: €39m.
